1. Install hex viewer.
2. Load Access file in hex viewer.
3. Call person on other end of phone line.
4. Read hex codes to other person so they can type them in.
5. Save file on remote end.

My query goes like this :
Select Usr.user_name as SalesPerson,
isnull(ReqNo,0) ReqNo,isnull(ResSubToSalesPerNo,0) ResSubToSalesPerNo,
isnull(ResSubToClientNo,0) ResSubToClientNo,isnull(InterviewNo,0) InterviewNo,
isnull(ConfirmNo,0) ConfirmNo,isnull(RejectionNo,0) RejectionNo
from
xr_user Usr
left Join
(select sales_person_id,count(requisition_date) ReqNo from xr_sales_reqs where
requisition_date between convert(varchar,'5/1/2006',101) and convert(varchar,'5/29/2006',101)
group by sales_person_id) Reg on
(Usr.User_Id = Reg.sales_person_id)
left join
(select A.sales_person_id,count(date_sub_sales_per) ResSubToSalesPerNo
from xr_sales_reqs A left join xr_candidate_links B on A.sales_req_id=B.sales_req_id
where B.date_sub_sales_per between convert(varchar,'5/1/2006',101) and convert(varchar,'5/29/2006',101)

Is there a log file or anything like that in which you can dig around at this more? Consult documentation with the third party .dll provider

Hi,
I am sure whether this is the right place to post this question. But it is to do with database.
I have a program coded in vc++6 and MS ACCESS as the database. The data connection is done using DAO.
Suppose I run this program on a computer that does not have microsoft office installed, will it still work? i.e. will it still be able to connect to the database?
If not, will installing the MICROSOFT JET ENGINE be sufficient?
Thanks,
Tara

Yes, the (free) Jet runtime, which automatically gets installed on many computers and can be repackaged into your installer, is sufficient for connections to the Access DB. Many programs do this.

Hi,
How to write a query to get 5th highest salary.
Thanks in advance
|
|
|

Select *,sal From Emp X Where 5 =<br />
(<br />
Select Count(Distinct Sal) From Emp Where sal >=X.sal<br />
)

Hi!
In SQL 2005 you should use CTE and the new ranking functions; write
<br />
with EmpCTE ( EmpNo, ..., Sal, SalRank ) as (<br />
select EmpNo, ..., Sal, dense_rank() over ( order by Sal desc )<br />
)<br />
select *<br />
from EmpCTE<br />
where SalRank=5;<br />

I have multiple tables that I'm pullng into a C# DataSet.
My first method was to run a query and merge the data I need into one table using the MySQL command.
But here's my problem. I have a shared field x_ID where in one Table A it is null and in Table B it is the primary.
For example:
I have
Table A
Customer_Purchase $5, $4, $3
Customer_ID 1, 2, null
Table B
Customer_ID 1, 2, 3, etc
Customer_Name ...
My return for Who purchased what would only have 2 rows and I'd rather have all three, even though one would have no name in it.
Thanks!

Outer joining is the key:
SELECT b.Customer_ID, b.Customer_Name, a.Customer_Purchase FROM a LEFT JOIN b ON a.Customer_ID = b.Customer_ID
This way you get everything from {a} regardless of what is in {b}

You can write to files and all sorts of other places, but the easiest thing would be to write to a DB table. If you're just debugging, that shouldn't be a problem: just create a table called something like Log, and write to it every time there's a problem.
If you do this in production and there are a lot of problems, the table can fill quickly. It's probably not the best way to do it in a production environment unless you've got a process to clean it out regularly.

use dos commands to log your errors. These dos commands can be executed using xp_cmdshell procedure in SQL Server.
you can also write console applications and run these application using sql server's xp_cmdshell command
