In which language want to develop your project ?

I've often felt a hole that CodeProject could fill is to provide a forum for posting freelance (or small consultancy) opportunities. If there is such a place and I've missed it, please point me to it and I'll re-post there!
I am looking for a team or individual freelancer to take on support, maintenance and some development of an existing ASP.Net webforms application. I wrote this system for a client about 4 years ago, and it forms the backbone of their day-to-day operations. I am now semi-retired and the client is (rightly) anxious about the prospect of my non-availability. Together we are seeking another party to take over primary support responsibility for the application. I am very happy to provide as much (or as little) hand-over and assistance as needed. The client would prefer a UK-based provider, but (apart from the requirements gathering stages, and one day at implementation) I've had no need to make on-site visits. The client is based in Northamptonshire, not far from J15. Initially, being in the SouthEast (M25 / M1) would be helpful as that's where I am based.
Key technical skills are ASP.Net using VB.Net (sorry!) with webforms. You will need good OOP skills, including understanding of inheritance, polymorphism and reflection. In addition you'll need some experience of SQL (MySql preferably) including stored procedures and triggers; of JQuery including JQueryUI and Ajax; of HTML5 with CSS (and some LESS). The server side is pretty well structured, the Javascript less so! However the application is very reliable and functionally rich. It is currently hosted on the client's own on-site server (live and UAT environments) but they are looking to move this to cloud or hosted service in 2020.
Once up to speed, overall time commitment is likely to be low - 3 -4 hours per months support, perhaps. There are a couple of enhancements planned - one maybe a two-week task, another maybe a month or two; plus the migration of hosting. You'd be billing the client directly, and you'd be well outside IR35.
Please email me in the first instance at cp@smallofficesolutions.co.uk if you are interested, or pass on the above plus contact details if you know someone else who may be suitable.
Thanks!

Hi there,
Would somebody like to collaborate on a rhythm game?
I have experience with unity and music production, would be great to find somebody passionate about the mentioned. I also work in game dev for large studio.
I've got a design concept that's quite different from most rhythm games out there, but it's still a realistically achievable goal, even with a 2 man team.
Thanks

I've written a program in python, and have run it several times to ensure it works. It seems to be working just fine. But I want to get a second opinion and make sure it is as good as it can be. The program can be found here:
https://repl.it/@BeardedPC/recreation[^]
I'm also trying to implement a way for the secret code to also turn into .'s when used, but it either doesn't work, works once, or works on ALL of them. This isn't needed, but if you feel compelled, by all means, give it a go.
as well as figure out how to fix the problem with the letters correct bit

Can anyone help me and let me know how to achieve this?
I have the below requirement ->
I have to develop a Word Add-in.
1. On click of this add in, one form will load.
2. On selection of a drop down on that form, another child form will be loaded on to this parent form. This should be dynamic.
3. On the drop down selection, the program will look for a XSD file. It will decide what are the controls required.
Possible Solution->
I am open to any solution using C#.NET Windows Form or C#.NET WPF.
Can we achieve this using?
Reason why I want dynamic load->
There are a lot of options in the drop down. So it is not possible to create that many number of forms. Also, there could be a change of change in the XSD file.
Please let me know if you need any other info?
Thanks...
What I have tried:
Trying for transform XSD to windows form. But still unsuccessful.

GitHub - alan2here/UpScaley[^]
UpScaley is a C# program to transfer style as well as upscaling images intelligently by comparing small regions of two images.
I'm looking for collaborators, please feel free to have a look at the discussions and contribute to the code.
The pics directory contains example images. The intro file has some simple sudocode of the main idea. The proj and "mono proj" directories contain VB and Mono project directories.
The process is slow but I think powerful. Test things with images of a maximum of 100 by 100 pixels and the process as the code is now should finish in a reasonable amount of time, see the example images for more details of good parameters to use.

Hey everyone,
I am in need of somebody to help me with a website I need for my organisation. Honestly my knowledge of programming is extremely basic, however, the kind of website I have in mind is a little too specialised for the web-builders I've looked into. It also seems like everybody I have asked for assistance on the matter have either been a less than valuable source of wisdom or seemingly won't even talked to you unless you are willingly to pay. My organisation is non-profit so providing significant monetary reward is difficult. Any assistance would be valuable and very much appreciated, ultimately I just need someone who is willing to have an actual conversation with me and maybe point me in the right direction. Many thanks.

I'd help out. Let me know if you're still needing someone. I'm running a division currently but i'm trying to do more outside of it. I could give you 15-20 hours to start, i'm key in UI/UX analytics, php, laravel, .net, ASP.NET, .NET core, SQL, and HTML/CSS, JS and JS frameworks.

Was fun - only did first problem, not sure how to get to next problem.
Interesting concept but difficult to replace coding with diagrams - its far too complex.
Good luck!

Good morning!
Maybe some of you remember my story: Working with professional artists[^]
Well... today is the day! In roughly 14 hours I will sit on-stage behind a drum kit and I will have to play live-on-stage a song together with the band!
I am so damned nervous... couldn't sleep well, trained the song over and over and over again... I am close to the point that "I can't hear it anymore! Arrghh"
All my friends, family and even lots of my colleagues at work will be there tonight... oh man... if I crush this... I'll dig a hole and jump in!
Luckily it's a rather small gig, not really a pure "friends&family" show but we are not on an open air stage, we play in a club/bar tonight, so the amount of people is limited. At least there will not be ten thousands of people watching me fail
I will post the video tomorrow if that's ok and then I'll also post the link to the app so you can take a look at the work the band and I did together.
For now, I have two things that I want to ask and tell:
First, what would you do? Imagine you are in my situation. You are about to do one of those once-in-a-lifetime things and you know, lots of people will be watching. What's your "Plan B", if something goes wrong? I mean... I really don't want to break the song but especially when drumming and you are over-nervous, your perception changes, time has a different speed, you see some things in slomo... and "time" is EVERYTHING behind the drums... The guitarist told me, his best trick right before a gig is a beer 1 hour before they start, a second beer 45 minutes before, a third 30 minutes before... well I guess you see the algorithm... I think I will trust him and I will use the same trick
Second, more important:
The band and I have a problem. I can "only" do Android Apps. I don't own a Mac and probably never will, I never had an iPhone but there still plenty iPhone users out there.
We are looking for someone (preferrably in Central Europe, but today on this planet, physical location doesn't matter that much) who would like to join us and port the App to iOS.
But I want to make one thing clear: There is no money involved. It is a Fan-Project, I did it for free for the Band because I damned LOVE their music, and anyone who ports this to iOS will do it for free, for the fun of it too. Are you someone who would be interested in that project?
Android is live, so there are no surprises, a quite simple server-file-format for the content files, the app is a more-or-less-sophisticated parser for content files, plays youtube-videos, shows lyrics.
It's not a technical nightmare, it's straight forward. I can give extensive docs about the format, and this should be possible in a short time (prob less than 100 hrs) in your free time.
Anyone interested to be part of a Fan Project? Your skills should cover: Async web requests, embed youtube videos, background checks (once a day) for new content, show notification.
You need to have an active developer account with apple and you will/may/must publish the app under your account/your name. THE APP IS YOURS AND STAYS YOURS. No Ads allowed. This is a free-fan-app with no monetarization background.
Your benefits would definitely be that you will meet the band (if you are luckily located in Vienna, Austria, Central Europe, Planet Earth, Milky way ) and join them in the studio, maybe even play along with them if you know how to play an instrument or if you can sing. Oh, and if you speak German, at least a little bit, it would help too
Leave me a reply if you are interested.
Cheers,
Mike

I am curious... how did it go?
About the collaboration, I would like to, but no technical background to support my willingness

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

There was not much response on my "Part II" post, so I didn't publish the video.
Thanks for asking, it all went VERY good - I played without a single mistake (at least, as fas as my musician ears could "hear"), and I even handled a quite complicated fill pattern in the middle of the guitar solo without a single wrong stroke. *phew*
The App is doing "ok" in the Play Store, it receives frequent updates from me, recently made it Android 8 compatible (for their new notification channel api) and the band is quite happy with the app state as-it-is.
So, this project was successful from the start to the end

(But you still never said what band it is. :p )

Do I really have to?
My profile has my Android label linked and as I wrote, the app is live, shouldn't be so hard to find out
My favorite songs:
Album "Back in time":
- I'm going down
- Nightfall (an EXTREMELY beautiful ballad!)
Album "Deep inside" (amazing album!)
- Something nasty
- Beneath the squares
- Deep inside
- Beautiful
- When the rain comes down
Album "Different"
- I'm not deaf (Hymn... such a hymn)
You don't know the band for sure, but it's worth listening - especially the first two songs from the above list from the back-in-time album.
cheers

Found ya. "Ganz spontan", indeed.
Pretty good. I like 'em.
Of course, it would have been cool if the mystery band was Opus, but...

Glad you like them!
Which songs did you listen to?
Oh and don't mind, installing the app and smashing in some 5 stars there
In their youtube channel you can find the live video of me playing if you are interested there.
I played "you do it" with them.
Please don't laugh too loud about how I look at the drums --- to my defense:
- I am a left-handed person
- The drum kit is set up for right-handed people
- We did not play with the studio kit, I saw the drum kit (and the arrangement) first time about 45 minutes before the video on stage
- I had zero chance to try the kit (and the distances) before

Well, the first one was with some guy they pulled up from the audience to play drums...
(I'm just letting YouTube run through all of them.)
