I'm working on a project written in C# / ASP.NET, and we're using crystal reports for em..reports. We're now in trouble, because our database is designed in a way that several companies can work on it at the same time, and the application is too.. our problem are reports, because most of them have a company logo in the top right corner and..it would be bad to show the same logo for ten different companies.
Any ideas how to deal with this?? Is there a way to put a link to an image dynamically? It would be terrible if we were to create a new report for each new company..
I'm not sure if I've explained this well enough.. Any ideas are welcome..

As per my knowledge there is no such techinics which will load report image dynamically based on some condition.
In case, if you want to show different the company logo's, you can store respective logos in some table. Once that is done then try to bind that feild which contain image to your report based on some company specific values.

Hell, that's exactly the thing I'd like to do OR, I can kill the man who thought of placing the logo on reports. Blast it. If need be, I'll go to work armed ask for a specific name, but the root of this problem will come to light
Darn.. I guess we'll dump the logo in the end or something.. But I still keep thinking that there must be a way of doing just that..

Maybe this is a stupid question, nevertheless, is it possible to interface a C++ class library in C#.
Some good reasons do this:
1. There are literally thousands (millions?) of C++ class libraries around in cyberspace, it seems a terrible waste not to able to use them.
2. I still believe that good conventionally written number crunching C++ code is (far) more efficient than C# / .NET code (e.g. arbitrary precision DSP).
3. C# / .NET code is (of course) much more suitable to write Windows / UI code. Combining the two should work out just great.
InterOp is possible with plain C DLL's and many articles are available to this subject. Is there anybody out there who encountered the same problem and has some suggestions.

Yes, there are a number of options
1. Managed C++, just write a wrapper and call that from .NET
2. COM - wrap your library in COM and then use COM interop
3. If your library is a dll, use PInvoke and just call it directly.
I believe there's an article around on using C++ libs in C#, I'd be surprised if the solution was not one of the above.

NCache boosts .NET application performance through in-memory clustered object caching. NCache not only lets you cache read-only data but also complex transactional data with relationships. NCache provides a graphical tool for configuring and monitoring clustered caches from a single computer.
NCache provides the following features:
1. Single-server or clustered server-farm configurations
2. Fully supports ASP.NET 2.0 Cache API
3. Read-through, write-through, and write-behind operations
4. Object relationship handling through intelligent dependency management
5. Cache clustering as Replicated Cache, Partitioned Cache, or Near Cache
NCache also includes a Clustered Session State for ASP.NET that lets you use sessions in server-farms without fearing single-point of failure and slow performance of Microsoft’s ASP.NET Persistent Session State.

Thanks - I've added this to the list of companies to cheap to pay for advertising and therefore unlikely to offer good support, and certainly not worthy of my financial support.

Have you tried to search some free/opensource SIP libs? I hope there is something...
However, you have to read and understand the SIP specs ().

I understand the SIP and VoIP...
I need help developing the SIP Client using C# for win platform...
SO, i tried searching samples or ideas around .....but i couldn;t find anything promising....

I think that once you have familiarity with the SIP protocols, the hard piece of work is to capture the sound and incapsulate it on one side, on the other side you have to playback the received sound...
Regarding capture/playback there are some good articles in CodeProjects: perform a little search. I believe there is some kind of library including all necessary tools to record and playback waveform files.
Personally I don't know much about VoIP, but I strongly suggest you to find some library, because implementing a complete High-level protocol (such as SIP) could require months of work, especially the audio codecs implementation!
Even a *simple* protocol such as POP3, isn't so much simple to implement...

Hi,
I have some positive experiences with SIP and VoIP and I wish to give you an advice. If you need to learn about SIP you can start here: http://voip-sip-sdk.com/[^] They provide many sample programs and you can try them for free.
For me it was a good start to learn more about SIP.

The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached from connecting from DotNetNuke to SQl Server 2000.

I take it there's a question buried in this post somewhere? Perhaps a code snippet of what your having a problem with will help too.

Hello,
I'm using a treeview and I have selected several nodes.
Now I'd like to clear those node selections so that there are no nodes selected in the treeview.
The only way I've found to do this is to reload the treeview with the object, which sets it back to original state. But there's got to be a better way.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

As far as I know, a treeview can only have one selected node, which you can retrieve with the SelectedNode property.
Therefore, I'm not sure what are you refering to when you say that you have selected *several* nodes - maybe checked, like if the treeview is set to diplay checkboxes, and you refer to the checked nodes?
Anyways, if you want to "deselect" the one and only node that could be selected in a treeview, try setting the SelectedNode property to null.
Otherwise, if you want to "uncheck" any checked node, you must navigate the nodes, say recursively, and set the Checked property of each node to false.
Assuming you have a treeview named treeView in your form, create a method called setCheck and call it from wherever you want to perform the clearing of checked nodes (or checking them for that matter):
<br />
private void setCheck(TreeNode node, bool isChecked) <br />
{<br />
if(node != null) <br />
{<br />
node.Checked = isChecked;<br />
foreach(TreeNode child in node.Nodes) <br />
{<br />
setCheck(child, isChecked);<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}
Call this method like this:
<br />
bool isChecked = false;
foreach(TreeNode node in treeView.Nodes) <br />
{<br />
setCheck(node, false);<br />
}<br />
Hope it helps.

FormTransMain::.ctor+0x2c
FormTransMain::Main+0x5
------------------------------
This happens on an application that uses a library that uses Web Services.
And i allready made debugging of the problem, the error comes when calling
the web services.
This occurs in the emulator of VS2003 and in the Pocket Pc.
Both library and application where built on C#.
I reall don't what to do anymore.
Thanks for all the help.

I am working with Sockets – I find this interesting, and I would call it a bug. It seems odd that the bytes that comes from GetAddressBytes is not valid for creating a new address given the prototype for it is the same. (A System.ArgumentException is thrown) let me know if you find this odd, a bug or if I am just not understanding how to use this interface correctly.

[STAThread]
static void Main(string[] args)
{
IPHostEntry Host;
IPAddress Address;
IPAddress Address2;
Host = Dns.Resolve(“AnyAddressThatResolves.com”);
Address = Host.AddressList[0];
/*
** This will cause an error, the prototype is
** public IPAddress(byte[] address);
** and the GetAddressBytes is
** public byte[] GetAddressBytes();
*/
Address2 = new IPAddress(Address.GetAddressBytes());
}
}
