For MonthCalendar control, the weekday format would follow the current
culture setting of the system, I wish to change the weekday format to en-us
while the system has been set to other culture setting rather than en-us.
I've tried to change the culture of the UIThread & CurrentThread to en-us,
while the form create the instance of the MonthCalendar, but failed.
Could any one help me for this ? Thanks!

i have to integrate the GPS device with google earth so that when device gives longitude and latitude then automatically google earth shows that location.desparately waiting for a reply.

the problem is that i dont know the interface of google earth to which i can integrate the GPS device.reply me if u know the google earth's interface.waiting for ur reply.

i hope this is the right place to post my problem,,
i'm using microsoft visual C++ 2005
i wrote the following code:

fatal error c1190 manage targeted code requires a ' /clr' optoin.

Hello ,
Read a article on mobile agent on code project,its wonderfull.
Also i read an article on mobile agent on MSDN

It also conist of sample code implementation of mobile agent,it's it C#.NET
i tested the program on the LAN,but got errors like
1>No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
or
2>A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
also tried between 2 PC's but got the same error.
Also i am new to .NET
can anyone help

hi all
i m power user of the computers and i want to execute the programs in vb.net but i cann't do so. visual studio.net environament gives message.
Error while running the project:unable to start debugging
Access is denied verify that you r administrator or member of debugger user group on machine you are trying to run and so on tell me what i should do where to set the persmissions of execute the programs.

I know that it's been a long time since this post has been posted (no pun intended) but I feel that the proper way would be to use the:
Microsoft.CSharp.CSharpCodeProvider
class. This has several methods which will compile from strings or files, you can compile any form of .NET assembly using this.
The equivalent VB is:
Microsoft.VisualBasic.VBCodeProvider

What I mean is the curent CTS lacks the ablility for a generic class to inherit a generic type
for example :
class MyClass<T> : T {
}
is not valid using curent generics.
If it would be posible where would it help ?
here an example :
class LoggedStream<T> : T where T : System.IO.Stream {
public override Flush() {
// Log stream flush
base.Flush();
}
}
usage :
LoggedStream<FileStream> s1 = new LoggedStream<FileStream>(); - can be used inplace of Filestream
LoggedStream<NetWorkStream> s2 = new LoggedStream<NetWorkStream>(); -- Same generic implementation and diferent type than LoggedStream<FileStream>();
For anyone wishing to use generics in such a way or requiring this feture there's an open sugestion on Microsoft's feedback center wich can be voted for.

No, there isn't.
Visual Studio.NET 2005 will ONLY work with .NET Framework 2.0
Visual Studio.NET 2003 will ONLY work with .NET Framework 1.1
Visual Studio.NET 2002 will ONLY work with .NET Framework 1.0
If your application is not using ANY functionality specific to the 2.0 version of the Framework, you can modify your app's app.config file to use a previous version. Targeting a .NET Framework Version[^]

Hi,
I would like to use the new AutoComplete feature supported in .net 2.0. I use it with a custom source, means I build my own suggestion string list for autocompletion mechanism. The goal should be that the textbox remembers all text that passed the validation mechanism for future use within the application session. Just in case the user has to reenter the same text again and again.
If I try to add the validted text to the custom source in an event like Validated or Leave, I can't tab out of the control. I have to hit the tab key twice to move out. It seems like I break the autocomplete mechanism by adding strings during the tab out process.
Have anybody found a way to use the AutoComplete feature in .net 2.0 in that manner I described above without any tab key issues?

Is framework good solution or bad...
Framework2 have 20mb how big will be 3,4,5,6
i dont know where this takes...
wouldnt it be bather that the microsoft build up new windows that will be free  and that will have all new futures in it?
My application has 3mb if i want to move it on to internet i have to build setup program and have framework2 setup in it... so my app is now 23mb.
the users will not go to internet and download framework just becose my app...
i need to have it in my app setup.
To Microsoft: lol you need to think on other people two!!!

Yeah, but even in the "old days", you had loads of DLLs to cover. I remember that I had to download a s***load of DLLs just to get a 20KB VB-Application to run.
Then, when I installed another app, I had to get some dozen Borland DLLs. Or VC DLLs.
Additionally, all further Service Packs are gonna install the .NET Framework in the most recent version.
Yeah, if you happen to be developing a .NET2-App right now, you will have to either tell the user to install the Framework first, or redistribute it with your app.
The same is true for many applications who use other libraries or tools.
You do not really have a point there

ya buth didn't microsoft push it to much?
its all ok in america and other countries buth croatia... and other poor countries? Man we have modems, no money to get adsl or something like that what user with modem will go to download 20MB of framework just to run your app, if other apps works great without framework... I think that microsoft have to do something! maybe free line that conects to microsoft for 1$ a day or something and you can dll what you need from microsoft... he should do something about it...
 Am i right?

Well here in Slovenia pretty much everybody has a cable or ADSL internet now...
And it really isn't that expensive...
Anways, I am prettty shure computer magazines include the .NET framework on their CDs/DVDs
And vista will have .NET included by default as far as I know...

i have a datatable that has to be binded to a datagrid which is filled from the database.
the datatable returned contains the fields {id, name}
but i'd like to insert a checkbox column and an image column to be binded with the datagrid.
so i'll have {checkbox, id, name, image}
so how can i do that in a simple way
