Hi
The RichTextBox control doesn't have a BackgroundImage property. I read in the msdn library that this property can be overriden, but there's no examples.
Can u tell me what 2 do with this problem??

Hi,
I have a problem with controls in window forms.
The controls are embedded in a window desktop application where notify windows are popping up
at certain times (based on a timer). The windows stay on the desktop until the user is closing them.
Here is the problem:
Controls of windows (the window forms contain a label and a pictureBox) which are popping up when the computer is locked appear in black. As soon as I change the size of the window (they are sizable window forms), the controls are displayed properly again.
Does someone have an ideas why this happens and how I can fix my code?

Strage bug. I bet the bug is very small. If you really can't figure it out you can try to catch the session events.
First you need to register for the events. Make sure you are running on XP. Use this:

You could try subscribing to the Paint event and calling this.Invalidate() in the event handler.
The Paint event is fired when you uplock the screen.

I need to convert string in specific format to DateTime structure.
I tryed following code but it throws exception.

string format = "YMMddHmmss";<br />
DateTime dateTime = DateTime.ParseExact(text,format,null) ;<br />
textBox1.Text = dateTime.ToString();

Hi,
The error you got is : String was not recognised as a valid date.
What I had to do is the reformat the string in this string :
string text = "2004-11-30 13:05:01";
I'm not sure from where the text value comes. But you could use other wyas to do this.

you could do it with the Converter class instead:
Convert.ToDateTime(string yourString);
or with a customised format
Convert.ToDateTime(string yourString, System.IFormatProvider yourFormat);

That format will never work and I would be surprised if u can find anyway to parse it.
Problems:
1: Years cannot be specified by one digit. How is the computer suposed to know if its 2004, or 2014 or even 1914. U need at least 2 digits and better if u use all 4 (2000 should have taught us that by now)
2: Same happens with the hours. No matter if u use the 12 hour AM/PM format or 24 hours, time can get to two digit values (11 PM / 23).
Ur parsing would work if u can get ur date to follow a "YYYYMMddHHmmss" pattern and will probably also work with a "YYMMddHHmmss" pattern although i'd go for first.

Hi,
I need to convert column numbers like Excel does (i.e. A,B,C...Y,Z,AA,AB,AC,...). There has to be something clever I can do. Do I have to make my own ICustomFormatter..something-something implementation, og is it possible to trick String.Format(...) into working on a custom number-base (i.e. not base 2,10 or 16, but my "custom A-Z base 26 without numbers first"  ) ?
Any ideas ?

I consider it close to cheating to use any offset-indexing between char codes and the numbers 
- but that might work as well, though..

Realizing that the above edit wasn't that bad anyway, I made this:

But not with 702 which should give ZZ - but gives [Z
I see that the "firstletter" asignment returns 27 for the division of 702/26 which in turn gives char code 91, being a '['
But how can I fix that ?

I have a form the user fills in and if any of the key fields are missing they show the CrucialDataMissingError errorprovider i created.
BUT the user has the option to continue without entering all the key data fields.
So i need a way to set all CrucialDataMissingError's to "" if the user chooses to ignore the errors is it possible to do this with a single command for all error providers of the same type or do i need to do each in a seperate command.

Not an easy thing, without SQL Server 2005.
I'd suggest:
1. Write to a file on a stored procedure and use a FileSystemWatcher on C#.
2. Talk, on a stored procedure, to a socket in C#.
3. Talk to a COM component.

I want to call a function, exported by a C DLL, in my project, but I do not know its parameters! How can I get parameters (signature) of a function exported by a C DLL? I am looking for a tool or any code that achieves this. Dependency Walker fails to show signature of C functions, why?

You can't. Since the parameters are passed on the stack, you must rely on the code that is popping the parameters off the stack in order to get them passed. On top of that parameters can also be passed by pointers, where the pointer is pushed onto the stack and poped off by the function code, to be used to point to an area of memory that, unless you had the header file to describe it to you, would be utterly meaningless without any type of context.

Hi All,
I have managed to Host (C#)Windows Froms Control in MFC Application.
MFC Application is Dialog based application where i did "Insert ActiveX Control" on a dialog and i am able to see the Control on Dialog.When i execute Program it runs fine.
Problem is after that when i Close Development Environment (VC++(6.0) IDE)and open it agian,it gives error "The ActiveX Control can not be instantiated"
"The ActiveX Control MyControl.MyControl1 Failed to initialize properly"
And in Design environment it shows Blue background on my control.But when i run it, it runs fine.
It is very annoying ,every time i closes and opens the IDE error is shown.
Can anybody give some advice on this.
