You will certainly get quite a few warnings when you open VS 2003 projects. Some of these will be for obsolete method calls (the app. will still run, but they just suggest that you use a newer API). You'll also get warnings in HTML files because they're now tracking XHTML 1.0. But again they'll still run.

C++ code will definitely be something different though!

My colleague is in the office and working on this now. He has run into mumerous problems with upgrading a VS 2003 solution! There are however a few articles dotted around on how to prepare for an upgrade, e.g.,

Hi Kevin

Thanks for the link. I am upgrading windows application not web one.
However some issue will be usefull I supppose.
I have upgraded my aplication and everything was fine except code written in C++. There was a change in C++ compilator in VS2005 and I am struggling with that now Frown | :-(

OK, yes you'll have fewer problems with windows forms than ASP.NET.

Yes, I warned you that you might have problems with C++! Smile | :)

Try googling on "Breaking changes in Visual C++" or something like that. A lot of the problems are to do with MS making the compiler more conformant with the C++ standard.

I have been founding in google etc. and I did not found anything usefull.
However I am still looking for that.
I consider to translate the C++ code to C#. I was going to do that in the future but maybe I will have to do it now.

I am using a .NET dll component in VB6.0, i created TLB file and also able to access the functins of the DLL and execute also,now my problem is when i am taking an EXE of that VB application the part of .NET component is not working (i.e) it's not executing the functions of .NET DLL which i am calling in VB(.EXE), I appreciate for any Responses

this gives me something like this > 15:03:12.1532500
i just need 15:03:12 Wink | ;)

i dont want fraction. how should i change my code ?

where key is string associated with key tag in app.config file

Hi,

I want to use DrawString using Trimming set to EllipsisCharacter, but this gives me stretched text (nonuniform spacing/kerning) when the text is trimmed.
But when I use another TextRenderingHint it does work, but I would rather use the default value, or at least draw non antialiased (or system default) text.
Is there a way to do draw trimmed text with an ellipsis without stretching it?
