Windows provides a way to share memory between processes via memory-mapped files, which are treated in much the same way as on-disk files, except that they point to an area in memory instead of an area on disk. Currently in .NET there's no built-in way to use this feature, but there are various wrappers[^] available from third parties, and .NET 4.0 is slated to have a class, System.IO.UnmanagedMemoryAccessor, that will expose memory-mapped file functionality. None of these methods directly make objects from one process available to another, though - that's a much more complex issue, and if that's what you're looking for, it's best addressed by remoting, serialization, or similar architectures.

I have to write a C# source code with regular indentation.(See list1 for regular style indentation)
and get the same C# source code with S-style indentation.(See list2 for the S-style indentation.)
You may implement it as a console program. (a Windows Form program is ok)
Other requirements : classes should be reusable and scalable. The source code should be readable and concise. The program should be able to overcome exceptions and continue to run.
Scalability requirements : the program should be able to accept and transform C++ source code as well with minimum modification.

Afternoon Folks !
I'm looking for some advice on keyboard shortcuts please.
I have my system set up so that some of the main windows are minimized at the side of the screen (toolbox, solution explorer etc).
I have found the keyboard shortcuts for making these visible/hiding and was wondering if there was another key tap for pinning it in place (turning off the auto hide) ?
You know - say i wanted it open t drag a a few components and didn't want it to keep auto-hiding.
I know i can 'pin' it with the mouse but would rather use the keyboard.
A bit hard to explain i know but hopefully you've understood me.

I set up macros to do this, e.g.,
Sub ToggleToolbox()

If I set a form to be a child control of a form and have AutoScroll on the parent form = true - if I then move and resize the child form the scolling goes haywire
Some sample code:

Does anybody know why it does that and is there a way around it so that moving and resizing the child form doesn't make the scrolling behaviour of the parent go loopy? The same thing happens if a child forms parent is set to be a usercontrol or a panel.

I would make the child form a control and place it in an empty form if I ever had to show it as it's own popup.

hello all
I wish to get in my c# application for a textbox having a tooltip which would show the total number of arguments it hold
more clearly
in the tooltip if i can have 5 numbers total it shows 5>5
5>5 tooltip.Show(1,2,3,4,5)
for my reqiurement the tool tip must show the following when i gradually type one parameter, to the next... the following see the numbers in bold
1>5 tooltip.Show(1)
2>5 tooltip.Show(1,2)
3>5 tooltip.Show(1,2,3)
4>5tooltip.Show(1,2,3,4) AND finally
5>5 tooltip.Show(1,2,3,4,5)
like wht we get in the C# editor while we type ....

hello all
i tried the code below to display the tooltip to be shown on the form when the user types on the textbox

the pblm is how to make the tool tip to be displayed almost closer to the textbox

The tool tip offsets itself from the position you give. You need to adjust the cords you give it accordingly:
toolTip1.Show("hello tony", txtSample, txtSample.Left + 10, txtSample.Top + 10, 1000);

first let me ask u a sorry for my mistake
i tried this way and i am ok to an extent...
this.toolTip1.ToolTipTitle = "Function name and parameters";
this.toolTip1.IsBalloon = true;
toolTip1.Show("Function name(string,int)", this.txtdispaly,1000);
Now the tool tip is showing at closer to the text box but in Balloon shape..
