You'll have to move yourself the control at the size and position you want based on the client coordinates of the parent window.
Take a look at MoveWindow in the MSDN.

Hi all,

I have my class that Inherites from CTreeCtrl.
I override OnPain() and i draw the items myself.
next to each item i am trying to draw an image

i use the following code:

problem:
I manage to see the image next to the item, but if i drag my dialog (the tree
is placed over a dialog), outside of the screen boundaries and then drag it
back within the screen boundaries, the image is gone...other drawing of the tree (such as the items) are correct....

what am i doing wrong? can any1 help?

You can display an image as the list control background using the following code:

LVBKIMAGE image;
memset(&image, 0, sizeof(image));
image.ulFlags = LVBKIF_STYLE_NORMAL|LVBKIF_SOURCE_URL;
image.pszImage = szFileName;
image.xOffsetPercent = 50;
image.yOffsetPercent = 50;

Rotating bitmap around its center

Hi!
I'm trying to get a bitmap to rotate. I want the bitmap to rotate around its midpoint (or an abitrary point)
I first used the formula:

xNew = (x * cosTemp) - (y * sinTemp);<br />
yNew = (x * sinTemp) + (y * cosTemp);<br />

but this only rotated the bitmap around the upper-left corner, and therefore I changed to this:

xNew = ((x * cosTemp) - (y * sinTemp)) + xRotAxis;<br />
yNew = ((x * sinTemp) + (y * cosTemp)) + yRotAxis;<br />

now the image is rotating around the x-and yRotAxis, BUT at the upper-left corner of the surface and thus hiding 3/4:s of the picture!

How do I make it rotate around its center at the surfaces' center? Confused | :confused:

When I sply a window in two, I use on the left frame a class derived from CImageView,and on the right frame a class derived from CFormView. No problem here. But if I change the right frame class to another one derived from CDialog,is not working.How can I solve this?

I'm just starting to program using MMX, but i couldnt find old intel MMX application notes on the website. It seems the link has changed, i tried searching for it but couldnt find it. Can anyone help me what is the link to intel mmx application notes?

I've contacted Intel, and they said that MMX application notes were removed due to age. An older copy of the notes can still be found at a third party website at

But I am not using MFC. It is a simple C program.
Also do I need to include any header file to use CString.

Forget about CString stuff, since it is of C++.

For C program, do this way:

Go the Project/Settings menu, then click on C/C++, select 'Precompiled Headers' from the category dropdown, and switch them off.

don't your problem come from that error ? :
fatal error C1010: unexpected end of file while looking for precompiled header directive
try to place the #include "stdafx.h" before all other includes...

Sometimes you do have to disable precompiler headers inorder to compile.

God is Real, unless declared Integer.

i want to make an application in which i want to change the color of a picture. e.g the picture is a design of a carpet and thier are several colors at different portions of that design . now if a user wants to change the color say he wants to change the red color with green color,he kust click on red color, so whereever the red color is present on that picture at different locations should be cjanged with green color.

can any body have this like application, i need it immediately plz or any body can help me how can i make it .can anybody gives me the logic and different APIs to be used? but if i got the application it will be a great great favour for me plzzz.

hello all,

here i am designing an SDI Doc/View application. Instead CView i had used the CFormView to display my dialog inthe view. As given in the MSDN, i had followed a procedure to change that dialog in the view dynamically. But the problem is that the newly displayed dialog is not responding for various events(WM_COMMAND,...).

How shall i make it to work properly.
