Hi ,

im using URLDownloadToFile to download an exe Please let which api i can use to download multiple exe"s and is it possible to check whether the desired exe is present in the web server.....

1/ Download first file.
2/ Wait till done.
3/ Download second file.
4/ ...

a)
Many webservers will limit the amount of files you can download simultaneously. It's polite to not flood them with requests.
b)
Assuming your connection is going as fast as it can, downloading them in parallel will just make each one take longer - you're still downloading the same amount of data after all!
c)
Package them in a zip file? Then you can download them all in oen big go.

You want to create a new thread in a remote process with CWinThread ?
As far as I know, this is something which can't be done: you can only create a thread in your own process.

was looking for something whtin the CWinThread Class I guess I'll have to stick to WIN32 SDK

seems like the real low level Api's Dont have Objects to suppourt them

You'd have to code the remote thread using SDK code anyway... So it's not a harsh restriction creating it using SDK code.

Hi,

I have a lot of MFC programming experience (mostly used with Stingray Objective Studio extensions), but I don't have any web programming experience. I'd like to start getting up to speed. Can anyone recommend a couple of good books on how to best use my existing experience to develop web apps?

Ideally I'd like to learn how to set up a container in a web browser that has multiple controls (buttons etc) that would be used to manage a canvas where I could do some custom drawing (e.g. CDC-style). What technologies would best support something like that?

I have a component I would like to embedd in my dialog form, to do this I have to set its "SetParent(int)" with hwnd. Is it possible to convert Hwnd to integer, or must I go around this problem ??

Define the context of SetParent: which function is this ? Because the win32 SetParent accepts the HWND of the windows. And the CWnd::SetParent function accepts a pointer to another CWnd object.

Thanks for you reply,

The component is a commercial framgrabber, and has it´s own SetParent function. I have tried to set the components SetParent to hwnd, but then Visual Studio complains (cannot convert parameter 1 from 'HWND' to 'int').

Well, if it is something completely different that Win32 or MFC then you should pass an integer value that makes sense to the framework you are using. What is this integer representing ?
It not just a matter of getting rid of the errors, it should also be correct.

Why are you giving the C:\\wmvcopy.exe int the cmdline again? I think you need to give only from -i ...
