It sounds like it's part of a 3rd party library. I don't have that file in any version of VC or PSDK on my machine right now.

Michael, You are my hero! I was interested in this header file because I wanted to make text entries in a list control appear in different colours. I have just looked at your 'Neat Stuff to do in List Controls Using Custom Draw' and used the method you describe and it has worked like a dream.

I'm currently workin on a project and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to open up a web page using C++ code, and then set the size of the screen that opens, or does anyone know of anywhere to get some more help

I have used ReadDirectoryChangesW with recursive for sub-folders and watched changes in "c:\". It gave me output for a while and suddenly Microsoft thrown dialog something like "Not responding"....
Is their anyway to "Get the information of the file which is get added/modified/deleted anywhere on computer"

I am using "ReadDirectoryChangesW()" and gave "C:\" as path.
The file changes were so fast.
It gave me output for about 200-250 notifications tentatively....
And after it "Not Responding" - "Send A report To Microsoft Dialog"
Now What should I use to "Get the information of the file which is get added/modified/deleted anywhere on computer"
Can I have sample code for it or something like that

The information is contained in the second argument passed to ReadDirectoryChangesW(). It's in the format of a FILE_NOTIFY_INFORMATION struct.

Yes Sir,
I am using "FILE_NOTIFY_INFORMATION" struct but my problem is I want to find the changed file Inforamtion that has changed ANYWHERE on computer.
ReadDirectoryChangesW()takes first parameter as path - where to search. But now here I want to search for change ANYWHERE on the computer

What's wrong with:
ReadDirectoryChangesW(hFolder, pBuffer, dwbufLen, TRUE, ...);

ReadDirectoryChangesW(hFolder, pBuffer, dwbufLen, TRUE, ...);
takes first argument as "hFolder" == Name of Folder
But I wanted to track whole computer (C:\,D:\E:\ etc).
File can be copied, added, deleted etc anywhere on the computer (C:\,D:\E:\ )
I dont know........
So here what should be given as a value for "hFolder" then ????
I tried with "C:\" as argument for "hFolder" but it worked for 200-250 files and get crashed OR "NotResponding" messgae from Windows making application to close. 
But here my argument should not be C:\ or D:\ or something like that, coz I want to handle event for all of them....
So what should be done in this case.....

There was again Specific requirement that only ".jpg" file should be tracked.
i.e. another application can add, delete or change .jpg file anywhere on the computer (C:\, d:\, E:\ etc) I dont know.....
This could be greate help if u can explain what should be done or any sort of code for it.

What value do you have for the fourth argument to ReadDirectoryChangesW()?

Parameter 4:- bWatchSubtree "true"
So it will look up in sub-folders also.

i am working on conversion of audio file formats.i want to convert mp3 to WAVE,
i want to ask how can i do that,if i access the data from MP3 frame,it is an compressed one,how can i decompress it,because there are no specifications related to decoding of MP3.
and secondly it will already be lossy data.so how can i get original data,which is uncompressed

If you can't write your own MP3 decoder then you'll need to buy one or find a free one.
A popular free one that works with the Windows Audio Compression Manager (ACM) can be found -
Google for LameMP3.
lossy means lossy. That means data was lost in the compression. If you could get the original
data back then it wouldn't be lossy

As has already been pointed out, the resulting .WAV file will not be the original since MP3 compression is lossy.

Hi all,
I have problem related to speed (alt) keys in PropertySheet.
I have overridden the OnWizardFinish() method of a CPropertySheet
derived class. I have edit box on PropertySheet. If i enter something invalid or keep the edit box empty, and click Finish button, an error message will be displayed. When i click OK button of error messagebox, the focus is not set on the edit box (Even though i have used SetFocus after MessageBox)and moreover alt keys will not work.
What may be the problem? Thanks in advance.

Can you tell: Are you using AfxMessageBox() to display the error message?

Try passing the handle of the window to the message box function eg: MessageBox(myDlghWnd,...);
if you are passing NULL and then try and setting the focus. I faced a similar problem and resolved it but just can't recollect it for now.
Somethings seem HARD to do, until we know how to do them.

I am using VC++ 2005.
As i said i was using
MessageBox(LPCTSTR lpszText,
LPCTSTR lpszCaption = NULL,
UINT nType = MB_OK);
MessageBox what u suggested was
::MessageBox(HWND hWnd,
LPCTSTR lpszText,
LPCTSTR lpszCaption,
UINT nType);
I used what u said, alt-keys working. But it's not displaying MessageBox.
