I might be missing something here, but what stops you from doing something like this:

//
// allocate & initialize FOOBAR
//
FOOBAR *pData = new FOOBAR();
 
//
// send the message and free pData
//
SendMessage( hWnd, WM_DO_FOOBAR_THING, (WPARAM)pData, NULL );
delete pData;
