I've just followed this thread. Very strange indeed. I wonder if they fixed this sort of problem in VC.NET.

Ok now I'm sure as hell that we cannot use operator[] to extract a wide char from CString
You can! Works perfectly good
Have you defined both UNICODE and _UNICODE, you need to define both to get everything to work properly...

Is _UNICODE defined? I think that is what maps the CString [] operator to single or wide chars?

Yes I defined _UNICODE but still when I use operator[] I only get the one-byte character.

I use MS VC++ Subscription (VC++ version 4.0) and have just got myself into a mess !! Somehow my project workspace has changed such that setting a breakpoint doesn't result in execution halting at that line of code. I have been in and out of all menus and options, but can't see anywhere where this "global disable" can be deselected. Am I faced with completely rebuilding my project from scratch or is there a simple way to recover my debugger (the project compiles/runs perfectly otherwise - just no stopping on breakpoints) Any help would be gratefullly received !!

Just a stupid question: Are you trying to debug the release version?
I have tried the same thing, but then I saw I was working with the release version. ooops...

Thanks for the suggestion, Anders. Just checked to be sure - definitely debug version. I have tried other project workspaces and they stop on breakpoints O.K. so the debugger code is O.K. One the project files must be controlling this behaviour.

My idea to rebuild the project worked !!! (no one more surprised than me !!!) I moved the directory away from where it was originally. Went into MS Developer Studio and created a new workspace with the SAME name as the original and same basic type (i.e. MDI). Then I copied back all .cpp.h files and the .mak .clw .res and .rc files. I then rebuilt all and, low and behold, it builds O.K and breakpoints work again. Hurrah !!!

I think that only deleting the opt and the ncb files would have been enough. I'm not sure though

This assumes you're using a dialog and editing it in the dialog editor.
1. For visual separation from other components on the dialog, select a group box from the control palette and place it on the dialog. Note: This is not needed for correct operation, only to visuall group the radios
2. Select and place two or more radio buttons inside the group box
3. Enable group style for the first radio button on the properties sheet if you will have more than one group of radio buttons
4. Designate one as the default button in code by setting it as BST_CHECKED
5. Process radio button click messages with a message handler

A group box control has nothing to do with it. A "group" of radio buttons is created by having them be consecutive in the tab order. The first button in the group needs the WS_GROUP style set, while all others must have that style off.

And just from the few words in the original question you knew beyond a doubt they did not want to visually group their radiobuttons? I must have missed that part, since in many applications radiobuttons are separated from other components by a group box.

Sheesh, read for content. Group boxes have nothing to do with the functionality of radio buttons. Many people think they do, so I was clearing that up.

Group boxes have nothing to do with the functionality of radio buttons.
They do in Windows Forms under .NET, where they serve as containers, but we don't know anything about this poster's environment except that the question was posted to the VC++ forum, so they are probably looking for an MFC oriented answer.

You only need to set WS_GROUP style on the first button if there is more than one functional group of radio buttons. Otherwise, it is not necessary.

Hi.
Is it possible to add/manipulate a grid feature in a CListBox object in a dialog box? The CListBox object displays without grid by default.
Thanks,

You should try a CListView object.

I have used CListView and CListCtrl. The reason I used a CListBox in the dialog box is because I only see a tool to create a listbox in dialog editor.
