I went ahead and created a new project, adding the files manually, etc. and it still doesn't work. Out of curiosity, does the themed Colorz run ok on your system?

I downloaded the exe from your article and ran it. Everything does look ok. I took a screen shot so you can compare it to what you are seeing on your machine. http://www3.telus.net/pja/colorz.PNG[^]

Use GetStyle() and check the style bit you are interested in.

if ((GetStyle() & TCS_SCROLLOPPOSITE) == TCS_SCROLLOPPOSITE)

cursor position in CListctrl

Am doing a find utility where am able to open all the child windows having the search text in the CListCtrl.

But am not able to set the focus (cursor) on the searched item in the particular child window. i use the following code for the selected item selection:-

list.SetItemState(nItem, LVIS_SELECTED, LVIS_SELECTED);
list.EnsureVisible( nItem, FALSE);
list.SetFocus();

Any clues please?

Hi!
I have a Formview and in that i have many graphs. Onleftdblclick onany graph it zooms. Till here i don't have ne problem but the problem is that i can not hide the graphs and controls behind it, i.e when i click on the zoomed graph i can see the comtrols behind it. i want a method to hide all the controls exept th one zoomed and show them again when it restores...
can ne one help me????

any way! i just want to hide the childs so that the processing for them continues my graph(real time plotiing) does,nt stop ploting

Your code is true also you cna use of EnumChildWindows for get child windows and use of ShowWindow for hide them.

Hi Can I viosualise Thread as

1. Multi-Tasking within a Process.
2. Some processing that is to/can be done OUT-OF-SEQUENCE inside a Process and is LIGHT-WEIGHTED is coded as thread.

That is what I all know about threads!
Hope to get some clear and enough info on it

A thread doesn't have to be light weight. Every app has at least one thread.

In the simplest of terms:

A process that shares heap space with its parent process, but has a separate stack space.

Thus, it can share memory (heap) and still run separately (stack).

About DLL mapping

Im confused to visualise DLL loading/sharing/mapping among more than 1 processes.

Is it like this :

1. A DLL is loaded into memory only when it is absent.
2. A process after loading DLL into memory creates an instance of its DLL-Data meant for the process itself(acopy of DLL-data).
3. For new every process using DLL there exists a new instance of data for it.
4. The code of DLL is not duplicated or Re-Located and at any instance of time a DLL uses data instance of the process associated at thet time.

Hope to get some tips over it

True, for the most part. If a section in the DLL is marked as shared the data in that section is shared among all the process that have that DLL loaded.

Again, mostly true. The same exception in the case of shared sections exists.

Not true. The data isn't duplicated but when the DLL is first loaded it may need to be relocated if the address range it expects isn't available.

2.Although as u said at first instance it may need relocation BUT wat if the next process also needs DLL to be relocated?

Sorry I din get ur Q.

But I can explain what I have to do . I have to basically first make an XML file digitally signed and then have to verify from other end. (Objective of the excercise)

1. To make it digitally signed I have to first HASH encrypt the file with a unique values (e.g. some ID) by HASH algo (SHA) and then have to sign it with a private key.
2. Now to verify it I have to do the same oprocedure but in reverse direction and with the help of the public key which would be differenct from the private key. (asymmnetric key)

I want to know how this to be done in VC++. Also if anyone knows that where these keys come from please let me know.

Well, you're the one telling the story. I guess you want to look for cryptography extensions to C++, as there is nothing in the actual language.
