Hello All,
actually i have to made a project using VS2005 with CLR support so can anybody tell me how can i use ofstream class in this project.
i am also "iostraem" but still it is giving error like
"error C2061: syntax error : identifier 'fstream'"
please share your knowledge

a) Did you #include <fstream>?
b) Are you writing std::fstream OR do you have using namespace std; at the top of the file?
c) You seem to want to program a managed C++ program. You should use the .NET classes and ask question in the managed C++ forum.

Sure you can, but Microsoft is stepping so far out of previous specifications that it is becoming hard to tell where the line is.
Unless you are just using ‘ofstream’ for reading, then you have a problem that I can not solve with-out the code.

I've written a class with only three attributes:

Following advice from my mentors, in hope of locating where the fault is exactly by debugging with WinDbg. Launch and attached to the target process, then run until I get:

"It happen in destructor" is getting nowhere. And its seems that the fault wasn't caught instantly but rather detected when memory is freed -- how can I enable "Full-page heap" from Global Flags so I get the violation as it happens?
While WinDbg indicates this happens in destructor CStartupManager::~CStartupManager ... seems like it's actually happenning before that.

Full-Page Heap
Full-page heap should be enabled for individual processes, or under limited parameters for large processes, because of its high memory requirements. It cannot be enabled system-wide, because it is difficult to evaluate the required page file size. Using a page file that is too small with system-wide full-page heap renders the system unbootable.
The advantage of full-page heap is that it causes a process to access violate (AV) exactly at the point of failure. This makes the failure easy to debug. In order to be able to pinpoint failures, first use normal page heap to determine the range where a process is failing, and then use full-page heap on individual large-scale processes for that restricted class of allocations (that is, a specific size range or a specific library).
Normal Page Heap
Normal page heap can be used for the testing of large-scale processes without the high memory consumption that full-page heap requires. However, normal page heap delays detection until blocks are freed, thus making failures more difficult to debug.
In general, use normal page heap for initial large-scale processes testing. Then, if problems are detected, enable full-page heap for a restricted class of allocations in those processes.

What is CStartupManager::StartUp doing? You never showed us that code or just told us what you are doing there.
The debugger text you showed us clearly (for funny definitions of CLEAR, that is) states, that something happened while destructing a basic_string<char>. That is a std::string.
And its your d'tor calling basic_string d'tor. Hence the pointing at your (empty) destructor.
I bet somewhere, something is done to m_strConfigFileName.

I think the problem wasn't really in destructor - suspecting that it's actually happening earlier.

So what is CStartupManager::StartUp() doing? What's being done with m_strConfigFileName? Can m_oConfigFile and m_oApplicationConfig be removed from the class?

In VS2005 running on WinXP Pro, I keep getting this error, "fatal error RC1107" any time I try to double click the resource file for my project in the Solution Explorer. It's not just one project, it's all of them. And even if I make a new project just from scratch, it still happens. So there has to be something wrong with my machine right?
Here's a pic of my problem for those who care to see...
Everywhere I went, they all said it has to do with project settings, and a bug in visual studio that was adding double quotes, but my Resources Command Line looks fine:

Any ideas would be great

Ah thanks... I had already tried googling for the error message and gone through plenty of pages, but I just went through them all again and a few more this morning, and finially found it.. Most of them were a slightly different bug, but incase someone else has the problem and ends up here:
"To fix the problem, I made a minor change to the include paths in the IDE.
Tools -> Options -> Projects and Solutions -> VC++ Directories
Show directories for: Include files
I Added a slash to my last path, so "P:\" became "P:\\". Ok the changes and the problem went away.

Hey, many thanks to you!! i was getting the same problem and then on checking my include directory list, I found '\' at end of one of the include paths. Removing that '\' solved the problem for me.

When you create the process you would be getting the handle to the window (From the ProcessInfo) with it creates.... just use that HWND as an argument to "::MessageBox"... use the global "::MessageBox" and not the AfxMessageBox or the MessageBox from inside a class inherited from a CWnd.
or course you would need to give it every argument and none will be optional/default.

I have created the MessageBox in a way u told me. but it solves my problem partially only  when I display a messagebox it is display in minimize mode. I am using something like this in my project ( not Exactly but like this)and I want the MessageBox to be displayed on the TOP of Notepad Window.

I had posted this message before, but because I haven't received any good suggestions, I am rewritting. I want to develop a new GINA DLL, and I want to know the security holes of it. I mean how an attacker can attack this DLL? for example he can replace his own GINA DLL in system32 and change the corresponding key value in Registry to his GINA's name. What are other ways of attacks to a custom GINA DLL? For more information, this GINA DLL is used for smart card Logon.

I am facing problem while printing crystal report 11 calling function from UI Thread .When I am using the same function calling directly on Button Click event ,all goes weel .But when I am trying to call the same function inside UIThread it give 2 errors :
1.This document could not be opened. It does not appear to be a Crystal Report document.
This document has the expected file extension (.RPT) but it seems to be corrupt. If the report use to work, try opening it with a different version of Crystal Reports and if that still does not work, please contact your administrator. (followed by an OKAY button)[/CODE] After clicking on the "Okay" buttom, the following error message is received:

Hi,
I am using VS.net 2003 with VC++ and Crystal Report templates generated using Crstal report 8.0 to generate a report. Now I upgraded to Crystal report 11.0. When I am using cystal report 11.0 templates to genrate a report the applcation fails to load the report. I tried replacing the older version of dll's with the latest ones but still it did not work. It's crashing because of Crystl32.ocx file.

Hi guys,
I have been googling all day and have not been able to find very much information on how to add and modify the group policy options in the 'User Rights Assigment' section.
To get to where I am you can run gpedit.msc, and then drill down to 'Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment'.
I am wanting to add and remove user names from the options listed in this section. For example, I want to be able to add a user name to the 'Deny logon locally' GP.
As I have not probably made this clear yet, I want to edit these options from within visual c++ programmatically.
Any help would be great!

I have been trying to use FlashWindow and FlashWindowEx in an attempt to mimic the flash that occurs in SPY++ when you right click on a window and choose "highlight". Specifically, I'm trying to do this with the MainFrame for an MFC Doc/View app.
Windows 2000
Platform SDK installed and paths set
Visual C++ 6.0 and Visual C++ 2003
No compile or link errors
When I run FlashWindowEx from a CMainFrame method it works (flashes the child view) when using a child window handle but when I use the main frame handle it only blinks the task manager button. The application is not minimized or iconic during testing.

Have you tried to get your MainWindow with:
AfxGetApp()->m_pMainWnd;
and then do the same as you were doing?

I was running it from CMainFrame.
I may be wrong, but aren't those two the same?
Just for grins, I tried m_pMainWnd but it just flashes the button in the task manager.
Did you get it to work on your machine or are you taking a shot in the dark? If you got it to work on your box, I'll keep at as I'm probably missing something right under my nose (again).
