NET Installer classes do not execute until the end of the setup sequence, and are not particularly useful for this kind of task. You need to use a custom action DLL that runs during the UI sequence instead.

I want a vb code for testing the printer trays.
vb Program has to find the installed printers, paper formats and the trays on the pc of each printer. It has to find all type of printers (HP, Lexmark, brothers,..)
Example: print some text on paper from a specific tray
\\server\printer1 - has 2 trays.
- tray 1 : A4
- tray 2 : A6
I want to print a text from tray 1:A4 and tray2:A6.
To find the printer and tray, program uses the SystemPrinters dll. But i cannot find a way to make this programm. Any help is excellent.

I need desperate help. I have a status bar with 4 panels and four labels above and outside of the status bar each above a panel. When the panel grows/shrinks with text - need for the labels to resize accordingly with the panels.
This is what I am trying now:
Private Sub ChkPause(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Checkpau.CheckedChanged
If Checkpau.Checked = True Then
'TxtFil_na.Text = "Program Paused " & vbCrLf & "Double Click Here to Start"
TxtFil_na.BackColor = Color.Red
StatusBar.Panels(1).Text = "Program Paused"
Else
TxtFil_na.BackColor = Color.LightGreen
'TxtFil_na.Text = "Program Running "
StatusBar.Panels(1).Text = "Program Runningggggg"
End If
End Sub
Private Sub Form1_Resize(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Resize
Dim panelWidth As Integer = Me.StatusBar.Size.Width / 4
lblsz.Width = StatusBar.Panels(0).Width
lblsts.Width = StatusBar.Panels(1).Width
lblFil_na.Width = StatusBar.Panels(2).Width
lblerr.Width = StatusBar.Panels(3).Width
StatusBar.Panels(1).AutoSize = StatusBarPanelAutoSize.Contents
End Sub
|
|
|
|
|
The problem is that you are changing the width of the labels, rather than the position of the label. What you want is for each label to change it's position as the panels resize. When panel(0) gets bigger, panels 1-3 move to the right to make room for it. This is not how the labels work, however. Each label has a Left property. As panel(0) gets bigger, you want the labels for panels 1-3 to change their Left property, so that they move to the right. Perhaps something like this:
<br />
lblsts.Left = StatusBar.Panels(0).Width + 3<br />
lblFil_na.Left = StatusBar.Panels(0).Width + StatusBar.Panels(1).Width + 3<br />
lblerr.Left = StatusBar.Panels(0).Width + StatusBar.Panels(1).Width + StatusBar.Panels(2).Width + 3

In the dialog meanu there should be an open file dialog. Add one of those to your form.
On your buttons click event, ( Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click), add this code (assuming name of open file dialog is openfiledialog1)
<br />
Dim FilePath As String<br />
Dim Input As String<br />
OpenFileDialog1.ShowDialog()<br />
FilePath = OpenFileDialog1.FileName<br />
'Filenames means multi-select; to open more than one<br />
Input = InputBox("Something", "Title", FilePath)<br />
You get to select the path from a dialog, and you use a string to pass it on to the input box, no error handling included.
Inputbox has optional sections, and default and title are included. So you can optionally add a default input.

NEED: .NET multi-table master-detail type customizable forms and datagrid generator or at least easy-to-follow idiot-proof instruction. ASPMaker.net ain't got it. ASPRunner.net ain't got it. Those tools are great for quick easy creation of add, display, edit, copy, delete, search database connectivity and functionality but for only one table!! I need to do all these quickly using data from three Oracle database tables (will also need to consider furture use for MS Access tables). Any intelligent leads appreciated. My database is small with only about two dozen total fields and only two master-detail relationships - not that big of a deal, it would seem. But my search has turned up nothing usable so far. Grateful for any and all good ideas. Programmers, freelancers, all responders/responses welcome. I just need to get it done in a hurry!!!
Thanks all!!

Can anyone suggest a good third party combobox? The combobox needs to be able to do the following:
Automatically fills the text at the cursor with the value of its dropdown values list. As characters are typed, the ComboBox finds the closest matching item from the list and automatically fills in the remaining characters. Appended characters are highlighted so that they are replaced by any further typing.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is my code:
Dim sql As String
Dim dtbl As DataTable
Dim dr As DataRow

If dtbl Is Nothing Then Exit Sub
For Each dr In dtbl.Rows
Dim mItem As New ListViewItem

You need to create an ImageList object. Add images to this and then pass its reference to your ListView. You can create a large (typically 32x32) and small (typically 16x16) ImageLists and assign them both if you want. It'll use the large ImageList for the Icon view and the small one for the Details/Report view. You can also just use one ImageList for both large and small if you want, and the images won't change size in the list.
lstDSNode_Fill.LargeImageList = myLargeImageList<br />
lstDSNode_Fill.SmallImageList = mySmallImageList
You can then assign an image to your ListViewItem by giving it an image index.
mItem.ImageIndex = 0 'Assigned 1st image in list.
One more thing. The following bit of code that you had is inefficient. There is no point in calling AddRange() if you're always only going to add 1 item. Plus you're allocating an array here every time.
.Items.AddRange(New ListViewItem() {mItem})
I suggest that you change it to the following.
.Items.Add(mItem)

Hi from Sydney
Anyone know if you can declare a "local static variables" value to a Public variable and preserve the Public variables contents after exiting the private sub?
I hope this sounds right? Thanks...
