It would be glorious to see mankind at leisure for once. It is nothing but work, work, work. I cannot easily buy a blank-book to write thoughts in; they are commonly ruled for dollars and cents. A[man], seeing me making a minute in the fields, took it for granted that I was calculating my wages. — business! - I think that there is nothing, not even crime, more opposed to poetry, to philosophy, ay, to life itself, than this incessant business.

Hi im using vb.net application to print data through dot matrix printer. what i need to do is once a printout is taken the paper should roll back to its starting position.
Is there any way in .net to handle such functionality of printer.
Im Using Epson Lx 300+ printer

That is a function that should be built into the printer itself. Try looking up Tear Off in the manual to see how it works.
On my old LQ-850, I didn't have to do anything in code to use it, nor did I have to hit any buttons on the printer.

I wonder if anyone has an answer to this?
Do you need a crystal reports run time licence to run a crystal report via VB.Net. The problem I am having is that when I put a VB.Net system onto a user's PC, the crystal report does not get a display.
|
|
|

not display mean? did you get any error?
r u using .net crystal report or external crystal report?
Anyhow you need to install the crystal report dll's into clinet PC.
Around five dll will come make setup file to install.

Problem
I am developing a system that uses Crystal Reports. I have Crystal report v8.5 on my PC and when I display a crystal report via VB.Net (2003), the report is displayed. The problem is that when I do the same report on a user's PC the report is not getting displayed. There are no error messages. What am I doing wrong.
Here is a sample of my code that is on the click event of the form....
'Load Crystal Report's rpt file
Dim cr As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
cr.Load(strReportPath)
param1Field.ParameterFieldName = "PassParam"
param1Range.Value = sPassParam
param1Field.CurrentValues.Add(param1Range)
param1Fields.Add(param1Field)
CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo = param1Fields
Dim rpt As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = strReportPath
CrystalReportViewer1.Refresh()
'Set the CrystalReportViewer's apperance and set the ReportSource
CrystalReportViewer1.ShowRefreshButton = False
CrystalReportViewer1.ShowCloseButton = False
CrystalReportViewer1.ShowGroupTreeButton = False
CrystalReportViewer1.Zoom(55)
'CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = cr
Any ideas?

There shure is no easy solution.
If you ware coding like you should and you speerated your buissnies logic and your data access layer from your windows forms then all you have to do is write a HTML interface. If you didn't then you have a big project before you.
