COBOL still exists. So does LOGO, for that matter. MS have not supported VB6 for some time. There are legacy projects to be sure, but that doesn't make VB6 worth learning, the number of new VB6 hires will continue to drop, as more and more people wake up.

Actually, I didn't say that. I meant that for someone entering the job market, VB6 has little value, compared to languages that are still alive.

With very old versions of Basic there was a statement called Randomize Timer but IIRC VB 6.0 didn't have it. I only know about the Random class in VB.NET.

I think if you look up a function called Rnd() and its sample code, you will be able to solve the problem.

i think that there is no one here have the answer to ur question, and so they are telling u that vb6 is outdata.... , but I think that she only needs to know the idea to solve the problem ...the idea is:
first: there is a function iin vb6 which is called rand(), which takes a number between 1 and 10.
second: let the program reads a number from the screen using any object some like open dialoge or maybe text field.
then comare the entered value with the value of rand() function
if not correct, then divide the interval (1 , 10) on 2 and see if the entered number from the screen is larger or smaller that 5
and go through until u get the right number

Wrong. Many of us used VB6, and all of us have access to google. VB6 IS outdated. However, the other issue is simply that if someone takes a course, they will be given everything they need to complete an assignment. Not encouraging people to first use those resources robs them of the chance to learn.

i'm not trying to do anything, i picked up an existing code that is supposed to save a webpage into text, archive, complete, etc. and its not working because of this error... i got the code from here

Then you should ask the question in the forum provided by the article. If you download the article code, does it run ? It probably contains the class you can't find.

i alerady downloaded the code, tried to build it and run it, but the only build error this one, and i searched the whole code trying to find this class but i couldnt.
With msdn, there is something called WebFile object in the Microsoft VBA reference (here) , but its not clear because its not mentionned to which class or reference it belongs.

I could be wrong, but I think that your answer will only count the number of rows in a datagrid. By running total, I mean total the value of a cell based on a value of another cell(column) in the row.

Do you mean a Reporting Services report? You can pass values from text boxes as paramters to an RS report.
