There is a maximum number of cells a MSFlexgrid can display. I cant remember the exact number and google isnt helping at the moment. From what i remember (from the problems we had) 1000 x 20 (and maybe a couple of fixed rows/columns) is probably pretty close to that limit. Try using the MSHFlexgrid instead.

String is first converted into ASCII and then to Unicode by character mapping and visa-versa!
I did the same thing while handling Hindi-fontcode. Hindi-font-Text was first converted into ISCII and then to Unicode & visa-versa. For that I used dlls...
All this thing is based on character mapping...

Hi,
I am writing an addin tat adds a couple of menu items to various CommandBars in Visual Studio 2005. I have all the menu items working fine but I still have a few other things to get sorted out.
I am adding some menu items to the context menu of the Project Folder. I want them all to appear after the Build, Rebuild and Clean menu items. How can I add a seperator before my first menu item and after my last menu item?
I have added a few menu items to the context menu of the code window. How can I fix it so that these menu items are only displayed when the active document is either a .cs or .vb file?
How can I get rid of the icons that are added automatically to my menu items?

I have a field in MSSQL server of date type which is nullable. I am checking the field from a RecordSet field but I am having the operation not allowed error
If rs.Fields("rdate").Value Is DBNull.Value Then

Are their any other way to check null value of date type

Is this VB6? rs.fields makes me think its VB6. DBNull.Value is a vb.net type and not available in VB6.
for VB6 try
if IsNull(rs.fields("rdate")) then

But always get the error that the operation is not allowed for Date Type with DBNull type.How can I handle it even tried the
Public Function dNull(ByVal O As Object ) As Boolean
If IsDBNull(O) = True Then

Else
Return False
End If
End Function
but still getting the same error.So how to handle Null value in VB.Net for Date Type.

What technology are you using for the data access?
It doesnt sound like ADO.NET as there is no fields collection in any of the ADO.NET objects. Thats why i thought you were using VB6 because it looks like you are using classic ADO.
If this is the case then i would guess thats your problem.
If you havent imported the System namespace you could try that first as DBNull is actually System.DBNull but the 'Is DBNull.Value' syntax is correct. If that doesnt work then i would guess its because classic ADO does not expose a datatype of System.DBNull so i cant really see any way around it other than dropping the ADO recordsets and using ADO.NET's Datasets and Datatables.

Sir,
There is a string like "this is a string"
I want to select substring "string" programically.I mean at run time it comes in the label control in the selected format and the remaining substring will be unselected.
Like in msdn library a search keyword is entered .now the result description comes with the search keyword selected i.e having blue background of the search keyword.
Please help me.

 i need to create a asp.net using vb.net program to manage sql server database users and groups, can someone advice the best way to do this, i was thinking of using sql queries to do this, but dont know where to start  ? is there other best way to this, or can give me links to article concerning this?

I usually start by working out what the application needs to do. I create a list of functions it performs. If there is a technology that I need to use that I don't know much about then I read articles about it, look at samples and build small test riggs to demonstrate to myself how it works.

You can use your favourite search engine to look for "SQL Server" and "user", "group", "role", "login", etc.

I am using form 2.0 control for displaying unicode text. I am able to copy the unicode text from that control to clipboard but fails to paste the unicode text from clipboard to form 2.0 control.
Also I am struck how to type in unicode in form 2.0 control!!!

Sir,
I am using connection string in the following format
Dim cnstr As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0;data source=C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Visual Studio Projects\WindowsApplication1\db1.mdb"
But when I use connection string in the following format it shows error and connection does not get establishment.
Dim cnstr As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0;data source=WindowsApplication1\db1.mdb"
I don't want to declare the full path.
Please help me

Has anyone tried creating a program that implements Secure File Transfer Protocol? I have seen code for stand-alone FTP programs and several 3rd party components that allow for sFTP, but I haven't seen complete code for sFTP.
From what I have read sFTP is FTP running over a Secure SHell (SSH). I don't mind doing a bit of investigation into this, but I haven't done Network programming previously. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
I'd like to code this without using third party components so that I have complete control and accountability for the end result.
