Hi,
we are facing Memory Leak issue from the beginning of Application deployed on the server. Suppose we restart the server, the memory usage will be decreased(25 or 30%). Then gradually it will increase. if it touches 100%, some of our Application EXE will be killed by the system. Memory Size is increased upto 100% within two days. I am a developer but in our System admin and me are analyzing this issue. When Physical Memory usage is 98% around 11.5 GB, in the task Manager -> Process -> Total size of the process is nearly 400 or 500 Mb only. We could not find where memory taking . Any suggestion appreciated.
More Information About the Server.
This is image server. Images are being accessed continuesly by other network client by using shared access as well as iis virtual path.
Windows Server 2008R2 Enterprise

At a customer's place who has OS X 10.5.8 installed on their iMac.
Need to upgrade but there is no App Store until 10.6.x.
Online says it is DVD only. Ring local Aplle Store and they don't have it but reckon it can be downloafed.
Put me through to Apple Support who promptly hang up on me.
Anyone have a link to where I can buy it and then download it?

There's a pretty unsatisfying (but very Apple) solution on their 'Support' site[^].
Basically, buy a 10.6 DVD, install it, then Mavericks. Big thing to check first is whether or not the machine can be upgraded.

I did some research - Versions before Lion (10.6.X) need to be installed from a DVD, anything else is impossible. Fortunately, Apple still sells Snow Leopard copies, so getting hands on the DVD shouldn't be a big deal.
I will never again mention that Dalek Dave was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel.

Found all that myself, but want the thing today. If I could get it today, I could complete the entire upgrade by the end of the weekend and get paid on Monday.
As it is, I called Apple, have paid for it and it should get to me by Tuesday, so it might be done by Thursday or Friday. The dicks won't mail it to my PO Box, it has to be the house, good thing my Wife and I both work, both kids go to school and the Mother In-Law won't answer the door when no ones home.

I could of course just send you my copy, but I doubt that that will arrive in Oz before you get it from Apel.

I want to add the shortcut to all user desktop using group policy reference. The file was share from
\\pc1\localsh\News
folder and mapped to user by a logon script to this path
Y:\News
I want to create a short cut to the News folder and put it on all desktop user. So I try to read the article from here[^]. The below is my setting:
Action: Update
Name: News/Information
Target Type: File System Object
Location: All user desktop
Target path: \\pc1\localsh\News
Argument: (Blank)
Start In: \\pc1\localsh\News
Other setting is keep the same. I also try to run gpupdate /force command on both server and client machine but when I try to logon, the shortcut is appear. I also try to search video in youtube it give an example by pointing shortcut to a website, not to a folder.
Please let me know if you found any mistake in the above setting and find the solution.
Thank,
Kanel

I downloaded the log file from the web server, and found many strange entries. Why is a statistics script called so terribly often? What do all the junk referrers do there? Looks like some mis-configuration of the Plesk software for managing IIS.
Literally hundreds of times a day, http://cydas.org/plesk-stat/webstat/AWStats/cgi-bin/awstats.pl?framename=mainright&output=refererpages[^] is called. This shows the referrer statistics for the web site - virtually none of them is related to Cytogenetics (that's what the web site is about). Most of them are dubious domains.
The statistics page does not show query parameters, as they are required for a good link to YouTube. But the logs show many referrals from YouTube (most of them say: "This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated.", but one is still available and bears the title "Generateur de Code PaySafeCard - Gratuit Code PaySafeCard" - criminal content, I guess).
What are your experiences with such a strange thing, how does this kind of hack work, and more important: how to prevent it?
[Edit]With a Google search (for awstats.pl and further search terms[^]), I found some more web sites which are such infected, and fake "user profiles" which link to the statistics page as their "home page".[/Edit]

I'd like to add some further thoughts about that problem.
The awstats.pl script provided a page with links - and everyone could add his favorite into this list: just send a GET request to any page of my site with a forged referer (any library for sending http requests allows for setting any referer), and it will then show up on the script page.
Why would you want to do so?
It is believed that you get a better rank with search engines when your site is linked from many other sites. And in fact, several "referers" contained "seo" (like Search Engine Optimization) in their domain/subdomain or page name. And many other sites were likely added by such SEO bastards.
Actually, back in 2010 a Russian web pharmacy was the first to massively use my site for that purpose.
But there is another group: they show "cheats" for games, provide links to cracked games, or even more criminal key generators. I guess they simply try to obfuscate their origin - my page is linked from somewhere, from here you get to a youtube video explaining their hack and showing a link to the next page to get the desired product.
Perhaps other uses are possible, but that's the idea I've come up with.

Hi all,
I am newbie to Window Driver programming.
So, my question that I concern is how the API call exactly Driver functions.
E.g.:
User application call an API function, then API function call Windows Driver. The question is how the API function maps to Driver function or call the driver correctly, especially there are many drivers for one device.
As of my thinking, the driver must conform to the rule that Microsoft define?
Pls answer me in the soonest time and Thank you very much.

Hello all,
In Windows 7, when using a multi monitor set up, and each monitor has different resolutions, you will notice that when you move the mouse from the smallest monitor to the biggest one it always works well, but when you do it in the other way, from the big one to the small one, some times it fails.
Let me explain, assuming that the top of the display is the vertical coordinate 0, if you have the mouse pointer in a vertical position bigger than the maximum resolution of the smaller display the mouse cursor will "collide" to an invisible wall.
Is there any way to avoid that? (apart of course than using two monitors of the exact resolution or to set both monitors to the same resolution).
As probably my explanation won't be the best one you will have seen, here you can read more about it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/34796-63-dual-monitors-resolutions-sizes[^]
Any idea?
My configuration is:
- Laptop with 1280x800 resolution and one analog display with 1920x1080 resolution.
- Windows 7.
- ATI Catalyst control center with a Radeon mobility HD 3650 graphics card.
PS: It is not ultra annoying it is something like when the mouse cable gets trapped and you can't move where you want... yes, it is ultra-annoying.

|
|
|
|
I found it annoying only for a few days, then I got used to it.
|
|
|
|
|
That's definitely not the answer I expected
|
|
|
|
|
In that case... get a smaller second monitor...

Simples. Before moving your cursor from he bigger monitor to the smaller one, position your cursor within the co-ordinates of the smaller monitor and then move the cursor.
