hi,
am new to widget development. can someone suggest me where to start from, i dont wanna use platforms like widgetbox etc. the widget will fetch data from my server for the client browser.

Actually, widget is just DIV and CSS/images. so, If you have good understanding about HTML and CSS, you can create it...

thanks for your reply, i do understand it but the problem i have is i am not sure how to host and how to make other people access it, get code to be pasted on their blog etc. Developing i know is no different. Can you please help me how to get started.

What the most of site do is that they just give the DIV with inline CSS to the user.. and they shows those div and css in textarea so that other people can copy it easily...

Hi,
I have a ASP form that sends an email. My code looks like that :
Set objMail = CreateObject("CDONTS.Newmail") <br />
objMail.To = "jo@jo.net" <br />
objMail.From = "jo@jo.net" <br />
objMail.Subject = "jo.com order" <br />
objMail.Body = string1 + vbCrLf + string2 + vbCrLf + ... <br />
objMail.Send
The code works fine, the email is delivered and all that. The problem is that sometimes, one of the strings in the email body is a bit long, and when it's long, extra vbCrLf are added where I don't want them.
For example, if string1 was "this string is starting to be a bit long", the email would look like this
this string is starting<br />
to be a bit long
when I view it in my email client (after it's been delivered)
So my question is : is there a line length limit when using CDONTS? What is it? Is there a way I can make sure that no line feed / carriage return characters are inserted in my message where I don't want them, no mather how long one string is?
I am using Outlook 2007 as a mail client if that makes a difference.

I am in the process of creating a desktop-style website. I have an image map which has hotspots for all the different icons on my website. When an icon is clicked a div should popup.
Below is my div code from the css:

}
Here is my image map code:

I'm not sure if the CodeProject parser has mangled your HTML, but there are several syntax errors that will cause you a lot of problems. The first is that your map element is self terminated, but you have another terminating element at the very end (
I don't see anything in this code that would indicate a popup div. Instead you have a popup window, as specified by the target="_self". Full details on popup windows can be found here, while popup divs are.
Finally, nothing to do with your question, but I'd personally reconsider having an image map for your website when a simple text menu would be much better, easier, and more accessible. Sites that emulate desktops always tend to feel awkward.

I have the following code, in order to redirect a browser:

I've included the the functions in the tag of the page, then made a call to the Redirect Function. The setTimout Line is called as I can see it being called in the fireforx java Script debugger.
However, the function pointed to by the setTimoutLine is never called even after 5 seconds has passed. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
I'm just using this in order to have a delay of 5 seconds before a page is redirected.

You mean, RedirectPage() is never called?
It's strange.. I suggest you to test with very simple things.

Try this and let us know whether you got alert or not..

hi folks,
actually i hv 2 dropdownlistboxes,based on the firstdropdownlist value,corresponding value will be binded to the second dropdownlist.i have done using javascript and xml.bt the problem is when i posted back to the server, i got the error says invalid callback/postback............ if i addded enableeventvalidation=false means i wont get any error bt not capturing the value.i donot know how to overcome this prob.
plz help me out.

I use ASP.net (c#) and I have google map api key.
I work on IIS as a localhost and test my web with pocket pc Emulator
and MS loopback adapter to connect localhost and internet.
When I test my google map application in web browser, It works right.
But when I test it on my emulator,it can not work.
I configure size of map as same as Emulator's screen.
And I don't want to use GoogleMap.cab that google released for mobile phone.
What should I do?

Hi,
I write a, ATL Server Web server(ISAPI include in same DLL) i have theses files:
- VectWebSrv.disco
- VectWebSrv.dll
- VectWebSrv.htm
I test it on my Xp Pro it work fine, i made client with MFC and C# (Web Application (ASPX)), both applications can access it...
Now it try to install it on Win2K3 Web Server (et c'est le drame !).
Result:
I can see the page with url (IE is launch on server): VectWebSrv.htm.
But when i try to get WSDL XML file from VectWebSrv.dll using : http://localhost/VectWebSrv/VectWebSrv.dll?Handler=WSDL
=> On Xp : It work...
=> On Win2K3 : The page cannot be found ... HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found...
Server Config from blank install on VMWARE.
1) I use a video from MS Lab to configure IIS and ASP.NET.
2) I create the same directory than in my XP for the web service and copy files...
3) With inetmgr.exe I add "Virtual directory" for my web service using same parameter than i my xp
- I use DefaultAppPool for protection.
4) I add user IIS_WPG to directory security (Read&Execute\List Folder Contents\Read)
Can anyone help me ?

Hi all,
I am having a winodows forms control (windows control library) which is having a list view control on to which I will drag and drop the files and the control holds their names along with the path. It is working fine when I am executing it in VS2005. I am able to drag and drop single file or multiple files at a time. But, when I am embeding it into a web page using <object> tab, I am able to drag drop only single file at a time, it is not allowing me to drag and drop multiple files at a single go. any body have any clue?

You ca drag and drop the web control but your requirement is very strange.
You want to drap and drop the file from Explore to the web page, right? Actually, it is not very good requirement for web application..
