Hi
You might aware of ClearType or font Smoothing feature by default provided by microsoft on IE7.On XP by defaul it's off.
My application is having Web Control(ActiveX control).and I want to set cleartype on specific to my application.
Can any body tell how can I do whether using any window message or registry settings ?
To set the cleartype on wholse OS I guess there is one API "SystemParametersInfo" that also I don't know how to use to set for application specific. I tried using this API but does not setting into my XP Pro SP2 MACHINE.
Can any body help me on this. ?
Thanks,
Prakash.

Hi,
I am looking for a tool that can create webscreens that I can show to clients. I use VS2008 for the screen creation and coding, but I looking for something very basic to show clients (even before I start with the code as part of the detailed requirements docs), nothing fancy. What do web designers normally use?
Thanks

I don't know about other people, but I use Visio to produce mock up screens.

I have a PHP Classifieds (like a craigslist) and I'm using a free host with no mail server. So I'm trying to use the ini_set to use gmail for my mail server. I have no luck. I tried insert the ini_set in the php script that sends the mail. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks
ini_set("SMTP","smtp.gmail.com");
ini_set("smtp_port","25");
ini_set("sendmail_from","Name <username@gmail.com>");
ini_set("username","username@gmail.com");
ini_set("password","password");

Your host has probably prevented ini changes. You should instead look at something like Swiftmailer[^]

Hello there.
I have a webpage that need to reload every 10 seconds, so I have put a meta tag:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="10">
Now this seems to work ok.
Now the problem is that my application requires to be monitored most time of the day and some users have reported that the refresh thing stops working after some time in the day.
So is there any problem in the meta refresh so that if it is allowed to refresh for many hours then at some time it stops working and the page don't reload?
Is it a browser problem?
Is there any work around for this?

Hi!
Hmm.. Can't think why META would stop working, but I trust it has, so, if you don't mind using javaScript, this code could provide a reasonable workaround:
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<SCRIPT TYPE="Text/JavaScript">
function StartRefreshing()
{
setInterval("this.location = this.location", 10000);
}
</SCRIPT>
</HEAD>
<BODY ONLOAD="StartRefreshing()">
</BODY>
</HTML>
This works in pretty much the same way the META tag does, and, to the best of my knowledge, will not stop refreshing after any amount of time.
Hope This Helps!

We have some code that export a datagrid to Excel, and, for small data sets, it works using 'application/vnd.ms-excel'.
However, there appears to be a size limitation on the data...
EDIT: If I limit the stored procedure to returning only 15 rows and 20 colums, the export works. However, at 20 rows and 20 columns, the error occurs.
If the size limitation is reached, when trying to open the file, the message 'Unable to read file' is shown.
Has anyone found a work around for this?
And yes, I have spent the morning in Google, MSDN forums, etc.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

what does "appears to be" mean? Do you have a link to something documenting this limitation or ???

Tim: I support the finance department, and we dump a lot of data for them from SQL Server into Excel. We had lots of problems rolling our own, so we bought Aspose Cells package. It sits on your web server and you just instantiate an object, set some properties and go. It does a lot of nice formatting and other functions. It is a little pricey ($600), but it was really easy to use. Our folks use it daily and it just runs.
Someone's gotta be the last to know, but why is it always me?

This this one[^] - it's not free but not expensive and claims to have multi-language support. I haven't had to try that feature, so can't guarantee it, but in all other areas I've found it an excellent editor. And i have found their support helpful.

Hi Guys,
I have an asp.net page that will be called once automatically through the scheduler. And after the processes are done it will then close the page. But my problem is the page will stop on the confirmation dialog.
Is there a way to bypass the confirmation dialog?
Below is my test code of closing the page...
Response.Write("<script language='javascript'> { window.close();}</script>")
Button3.Attributes.Add("onclick", "window.close();")

I purchased a template site through www.9dx.com and need some assistance setting up tables in my pages. This site has a content management system for general web design but I do not understand how to add a table. I have for instance a profit and loss statement that I need to post for investors. It comes from excel and is a pretty large chart. Could someone direct me to a resource to understand how to add a spreadsheet directly into a web page?

Hi.
I have a DIV tag .
I want to fix maximum height of it with height of the browser (FF or IE)
how can I do it ?
|
|

Hi,
As far as im aware you can just add the following to your css code. Not 100% sure as its been a while since i did web development, but i dont think this can be set in IE.
div {
max-height: 1000px;
overflow: auto;
}
Many thanks,
TF

Thank you DJ.
I tested it. But it wasn't thing that I wanted.

Sorry, misread your question, thought you meant set a maximum height on the div rather than div to maximum height of window.
html
{
height: 100%;
}
body
{
min-height: 100%;
height: 100%;
}
div
{
height: 100%;
min-height: 100%;
}
(div would be given name of your div)
This might work, again not 100% sure.
