You will have to redesign the site such a way that the size fits 800x600 resolution... for eg by having the width/height as fixed - the downside is the site will have a big gap at side(s) when you see in higher resolution.
Ideal solution would be to redesign the site which will fit 'any' resolution

recently i discovered i could design web site using css instead of tables. and i am quite fasinated with this concept. So could any one refer to any site which contain resources that helps me design web site using css
And i not quite sure about it advantage over traditional method of designing web pages using tables could any one elaborate on that too.

The major advantage of using css for layout is that css is made for layout. The table tag is ment for making tables, not layout. The only reason that tables was ever used for layout is that there was no alternative before css. Now there is. Css to the resque. Where a table will resist you in every possible way (because it really doesn't want to do layout), css will work with you instead. It takes a while to get the hang of it, but once you have, you will never ever want to go back.
If you do it right, you will be rewarded with html code that is a tenth the size of the table-in-table-in-table-in-table-in-table code full of transparent gif images.

The concept of "tableless design" is all fine and dandy, but in reality, it's almost impossible to pull off because of the varying levels of conformity exhibited by the various browsers, and designing for one browser (IE) is not only arrogant, it enforces (and endorses) Microsoft's monopoly on the market.
I use tables to constrain the divs because in many cases, that's the only way I could get it to work across numerous browsers.

Actually, IE is one of the biggest problems when implementing layout. As it contains so many rendering bugs, there are many things in the css standard that you just cannot use. If one could design only for non-IE browsers, it would be a lot easier.
Tableless designs are not impossible, it's just hard. Then again, using tables for layout is also hard.
If you find it hard to do layout without tables, make yourself a favour and learn how to do it. Otherwise you will be stuck in table hell forever.

Ok, Im convinced ie6 sucks. Hard. I'm making a website for a friend of mine:

Everything works just fine and dandy in firefox. I get the site live and realize to my horror that it has some very nettlesome problems in ie6. For one every time you click a link the entire page flashes black along with a noticeable blackness for the button selected. Makes no sense. I designed it in fireworks/dreamweaver and tested it in firefox. I'm sure this blackness is far more noticeable on 56k.
Another good one is how the javascript open links (under the writing section which uses iframes) work in firefox but not in internet explorer. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I've got a form with one textbox with Maxlength = 5 and another with Maxlength = 10 and a user control that has another textBox. Input on the user control can be copied to either textbox one or two on the parent form, depending where focus was when the user control was displayed. How do I set the maxlength of the textbox in the user control to the Maxlength of the textbox on the parent form?

Hi, I have 2 questions about Javascript. The first, is that I have the following code which starts an interval 'window.setInterval("LoadingContent()",500);' My question is how can I get this to stop firing?
Secondly, in my output from the database, whenever there is a ' in the output, it removes the '. Eg: DH'KJ is output as DHKJ - how can i prevent this?

1. The method returns an identifier. Call clearInterval with that identifier.

Hi,
I have made a very simple ISAPI in C++, which examines the request URL and if a pattern matches, then would modify the URL to an appropriate ASPX page in the web application, reading settings from a plain text file. This perfectly works for Windows 2000 and XP and when I tried to put it in a Windows 2003 box, it took 2 to 3 minutes and only then, the properties dialog was showing 'Green' icon, indicating that the filter was loaded.
But the request is being responded with Bad Request.
I am not using any Raw Sockets except for Preproc Header notification which is very basic. Is'nt it? I have also browsed through the system eventlogs for any error messages but none have been recorded in this direction.
Please help...

Hi all,
I can't figure this out. In IE, when I open a new window, history.length seems to have a value of 0, while it's 1 in Firefox. Can anyone tell me why?
Is there a way to get around this? And if not, is there a way to code safely such that if there is a bug in either IE or Firefox, my code won't break later when the bug is fixed?

I have a javascript date picker on a asp.net web form. What I want is that when the Web form is loaded that if the Ststus field contains the text "Closed" then the datepicker will disappear.
Has anyone any resources or ideas on how to achieve this?

Hi,
can someone recommend a tool to test a web server implementation?
Something to verify that your server implementation is RFC conform and reliable. I found it hard to test all the functionality with existing clients only (used web browsers and download managers). Also the HTTP 1.1 specification was quite hard to read (compared to HTTP 1.0), I would like to test properly. I am not terribly interested in stress and load testing at the moment, but as a first step I am more interested in reliability tests, being RFC conform and build up regresison tests.

Hello, there,
I'd like to know whether there is a way to get/set caret position in textarea control in Javascript. I tried very hard to seach the Internet and didn't find anything useful. Please help me out.
Here is an example of how I want it to work. Say I have two textarea boxes(TextArea1 and TextArea2) and a button. When the user clicks on the button, the text in the textArea1 is copied to textarea2, textarea1 lose focus and textarea2 will get the focus. All these are very easy to implement. But what I want is the caret in the TextArea2 set to the position of caret position in TextArea1 before the button click.
Please help me.
