The path given to file_exists() should be the actual physical path on your filesystem, not the one in the URL. Probably you should prepend $_SERVER[DOCUMENT_ROOT] to your path.

I think you will find that on a Linux server this will try look for the image in the root folder. To make it so that it searches from the current location in the file system then remove the "/" before the Images directory in the above code. If that doesn't solve your problem let me know and I'll give you some other suggestions.

Just a quick guess. Did you try passing the path to real or realpath [I can not recall the exact method in PHP], which is the equivalent of Server.MapPath in ASP.
I feel your PHP Zend Engine is trying to use the VirtualPath as a Physical Path. Note that on a Unix system / is the top root.

Hello everybody,
I'm currently working on my diploma thesis. I have thought to develop a mobile application that could send a request via sms to a web service which would process that info, and though Google Maps API would return that requested location. So i have to store that specified location map as a jpg format for example, in order to send it back to the mobile user though a mms. Is there any code or any script or any module that can be included into my application in order to store the Google Map location as a picture format? It's very important to me to have an answer back as soon as possible.

Hello,
I am VC++ programmer. I am novice to ASP. I am using CWebBrowser2(ActiveX control) to navigate some user-written ASP pages from my application. When I navigate from my CWebBrowser2 control, I am telling it to use POST transaction instead of GET transaction and sending some Post data string.
The problem is I don't know correct way how to read this data in ASP. I used Request method but no use. Offcourse, I am not sure 100% that my activeX control is really using POST method to send data correct way. Can somebody help me to read post data. Or is there a way to monitor IIS to see how the activex control sending the request ?
FYI: I am sending string : "MYInput=This is my input"

You should be able to determine the type of request by examining the Request object, but to be honest it's been a while since i've used ASP and so i can't confirm that. You might want to try the ASP.NET forum.
You might also find Fiddler[^] useful for examining the request on its way to the wire...

The activeX control from C++ is posting data in binary. I am able to read the data in ASP using
Response.BinaryWrite(Request.BinaryRead(Request.To talBytes))
Is there any easy way to read or convert it into string in my ASP?
I tried Request.Form("MyInput") and Request("MyInput") but no help.

Hi guys,
this week I tried to rebuild this example:

But it will not work 
The credentials and the policy will be set but when I want to call the web service I got an error like this:
SOAP header Security was not understood.
I tried many hours to solve this issue but in vain.
If you want I may send the service and the client project file to you.

I'd like to create on-line help for my software and am looking for a help authoring app that will assist. I found programs like "Help & Manual" that do this, but all the ones I tried have the same problem: They use frames in the generated help pages with the table of contents in one frame and the currently viewed help page in another frame. This means that people won't be able to link to specific pages in the help since all pages appear to have the same URL. For me this defeats the whole purpose of putting the manual on-line.
Isn't there some system that will help me create an on-line manual, will do things like automatically create the tables of contents, but that will do it in such a way that I can link to specific page in the manual?

I am trying to build a Web Service proxy using WSDL. When running WSDL from the command line I receive the following error:
There was an error downloading 'http://localhost:61968/WebSite1/Service.asmx?WSDL
Unable to connect to remote server

And am trying to build it on a Windows Server 2003 machine.

Hmm: you didn't ask that: next time be sure to ask the corretc question or you'll get an incorrect answer.
You need 2 style sheets, one for the screen and one for print. The screen one is yournormal style shteet. The print style sheet renders everything hidden apart from the controls you are interested in. I leave it to you to figure out how that works.

Hey all,
What do you find is the best way to implement a database driven menu?
On my first db driven one, It was just a loop in ASP getting ingo from the database and writing links - plain (yes i did use styles to make it look a bit better) but works.
On my second one, it used a bit of javascript to style the menu and make dropdowns - has issues but looked decent.
Now I am working on my third site that uses a db driven menu, and am not sure which way i should go for (a)least issues, (b)looks and (c) user friendliness (and yes I am aware it is just a menu, but the menu is the highway through your site... without it, its kinda hard to get around)

Do you mean drop-down menus? This guy[^] has examples for just about any sort of menu imaginable, all styled via CSS. I would definitely start there.
As for how best to generate them from a DB, that's gonna depend on your DB, schema, language, platform...
