See, There are various ways to do this.One simple way,have a file and store the starting time of your application and store that file and always check the time at starting of your application and if is older tham the spcified period then show a message. Store the data in encrypted format.
Another way, make a entry in registry at very first time check the time each time user starts the application, accordingly show the message

Bcoz i think this will create security issues.

First thing if you are going to access the registry of your webserver, not every client machine. Also you require to make the entries in registry only when your product is in evaluation mode.
So when your demo product will be deployed on webserver,it is normally run on 'NetworkService' account , which does not have accesss to the registry. To get the registry access, you need to make some changes for this account on webserver.The chanes are

You can run some script make the changes on webserver when your semo application is going to deploy.

Your question is not quite clear. Yet what it looks like is you want to have Image shown as background in all possible scenarios. You can achieve all using proper CSS.

Erhm, I Guess you will have to download the file. Maybe you can create some kind of fancy stream construction which will play the media while downloading, but you cannot play remote media on a local machine without downloading the data.

You would create a stream that would allow you to read the file, this means the data would obviously be in memory and would therefore not be stored on the local storage media.

Hi,
I am putting this question because before I go far, i need to decide the correct aproach.
On the webform, I need to implement two lists. List A and List B. the items in the List A is populated from database and from it a single item or all items can be selected and picked to List B. from List B, items can be pulled back to List A. Whatever items are in List B, when clicked a save button need to be inserted in the database.
List A List B

In list B, I also need to have check box for each row to decide an attribute on it. i.e. list B rows should be editable in that respect.
I am not sure which control to implement here. A listview or a gridview? i dont want database operations on each select deselect button. Only when the save button is clicked, insert record in database operation should happen. how should I define the datasets for two lists here? should it be a session variable of virtual table ? or should i go for temporary table in database (but then it remains until the connection is valid). should I apply a hash table?
Any suggestions please ? any example?

i think you can make use of labeledit property of listview which enables editing of list items.

Hi Vijay,
You can handle this thing by get listview to put one label or textbox(if required edit) and maintain two separate dataset that can be stored in view state and for final save all dataset from view state need to save in database.
OR
Rather than dataset we can handle all this stuff by using javascript but that is little bit tricky so that good approach is take listview/gridview and implement all part in update panel so it would avoid full page post back call.

Remoting is a Dotnet techmology which replaced DCOM.
Does remoting help integrate applications in different technologies? Isn't there a requirement that both systems
participating in remoting should have Dotnet running and should have DotNet architecture support (I may well use
TCP por http with SOAP)
Then how can the statement I wrote first be generalized across Dotnet???
Please help me with a link / tutorial which can explain integration in simple words.
