I made a website in Visual Studio. I see if it works on the local server and everything works perfectly. I then follow the instructions to put it on my godaddy server, but when i go the website it gives me an error. This error is
Server Error in '/' Application
The type specified in the TypeName property of ObjectDataSource 'ObjectDataSource1' could not be found. I looked online and visual studio says that i should
To resolve the error, you must add the project namespace to the TypeName property. Assuming your project namespace is "wap1", follow these steps.
1. Open the Member_List.aspx page.
2. Change the type name in the ObjectDataSource declaration to be fully qualified, as in the following example:
<asp:objectdatasource typename="wap1.MemberDetails">
The problem is that i can't find the file Member_List.aspx. Any one know what to do?

hi,
I am using asp.net1.1. i am using IE treeview web control.
In the page load method of codebehind file(C#) i am constructing the tree from DB.
i have a submit button where user can update nodedata into DB. When the user clicks the submit button i want the tree to be constructed with the new update values.
if i press F5 then i can see the updated value. without pressing F5, how can the tree be updated.
i mean when the submit button is pressed i want to execute the event(submit_click) first then the page_load should be executed.how can i achieve it.
thanks

You can't. The Page_Load event always occurs before any control events.
Any code that you want ececuted after the control events, you can put in Page_PreRender instead.

How to convert it?
Do you know any tool to do this conversion ? Thanks.
I have tried to use VS2005 wizard to convert this project, but the page converted still
looks like ASP.NET 1.1 page. It's different with ASP.NET 2.0 page.
So, I want know any tool for help.
Thanks.

Of course it looks the same. Do you think layouts are going to change in 2.0?
If you ran the conversion, and it opens in 2005, it's converted.

Yes, I expect this.

It's not going to happen. It's not a magic trick. It converts the code, not the layout.

Thanks for your reply , we plan to re-develop it in the ASP.NET 2.0

Did anyone try to run some ASP.NET 2.0 apps with IIS7 on Windows Vista (build 5744)?
In my case an existing application perfectly working with IIS5 and IIS6, with IIS7 has problems, particularly with query strings parameters, MultiView s and Response.Redirect s.
Does anyone has some advice?
Thanks.

What kind of problems?

MultiView 's ActiveViewIndex not correct, Redirects that don't redirect, and something like that.
Anyway, I'll try to perform some more accurate tests because I can't even describe errors properly now.

i want replace a file insted of the other file i do this work but its not write.
try
{
string OriginalFile = "c:\\"+them+".css";
string FileToReplace = "c:\\"+name+".css";
string BackUpOfFileToReplace = "c:\\"+name+".css.bac";
System.IO.File.Replace(OriginalFile, FileToReplace, BackUpOfFileToReplace);
Console.WriteLine("Done");
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
string s = (ex).ToString();
}
how can i do this?
|

I have never used the replace function. Generally what I would do is rename a file and then just write a new one with the old name.

if i have two time variables:
a = 08:32 ( 08 is hours; 32 is minutes)
b = 13:54
how to compare this time format?
( the time output should be b longer than a )
Best regards,
Chee ken

|

|
|
If you use TimeSpan structures, you can compare them and do calculations on them. Example:
TimeSpan a = new TimeSpan(8, 32, 0);<br />
TimeSpan b = new TimeSpan(13, 54, 0);<br />
<br />
if (a > b) Console.WriteLine("Time a is longer.");<br />
if (b > a) Console.WriteLine("Time b is longer.");<br />
if (a == b) Console.WriteLine("They are equal.");<br />
Console.WriteLine("Comparison: " + ToString(TimeSpan.Compare(a, b)));<br />
Console.WriteLine("Differece in minutes: " + ToString((b - a).TotalMinutes));
---
b { font-weight: normal; }
|
|
|
|
|
You can also compare to DateTime values and the result is a TimeSpan
DateTime date1 = DateTime.Parse("2006-06-01 08:32");
DateTime date2 = DateTime.Parse("2006-06-01 13:54");
TimeSpan span1 = date2 - date1;
