Do you mean you want the same image to be applied to the image button throughout your project?
If so just use a common_methods class and declare it in there
|
|
|
|
|
The problem is that the Image tag does not run the inline code tags.

Quite plainly, if <%= is not parsed in the image tag, then I don't see what other solution you could possibly hope for, in the ASPX.
I spent some time testing, and sure enough, for an Image server control, the values need to be set in the code behind, for an img tag, the inline method works fine.

you can consume a web service in your server side code if you want to.

Hi,
I am using classic Asp and I want to design a dynamic related football website with MSSQL.
I would like to design my CMS (Content Management System) in such a way, that an administrator user can update the content of a variable row/column data table in a very convenience way.
As an idea, I thought to export an XML file from the Excel and then to import it in my CMS. Alternatively, what do you suggest?
Regards,

I can't imagine why anyone would use 'classic' ASP, it's kind of a disaster.

Hi All,
can you please provide c# code to disable previous dates on ajax calendar extender.
thanks a lot.

What do you mean by previous dates ? Dates before today ? Dates previously selected ?
Obvioulsy, no C# code can help you here, it's a client side control, which means it's javascript. You'd need to hack the control to get it to do something that's not supported by the properties it exposes, or just not use it.

Hello everyone.
I have a reporting application, in which you can choose some different kinds of report through a simple ASP.NET menu webcontrol, fed by the regular web.sitemap file.
Each report page has several pages of detail, which you access by clicking on one item of those listed in the page. Some of the detail pages are shared between two or more report pages, and the parameters are passed through querystring. Nothing new or weird so far.
The big problem started when we were asked to provide a "back" button for each page.
This button is based on browser history and should get you back to previous page no matter where you are.
Our big issue is that sometimes, accessing a report from the menu seems to clear the browser's history, thus rendering our smart "back" button useless.
Is there some undocumented bug in the ASP.NET menu control, which may cause this issue?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rey9999
UPDATE: the application runs fine in IIS 5.1, the issue seems to be in IIS 6. Also, not only navigating through the menus, but also filtering the report data sometimes clears the history.
Any ideas? what is changed between iis 5 and 6 about how history's managed?
FURTHER UPDATE: My fault; it is not the web server, but the database which causes the issue.
When i use a small test database, everything works. When i use a large production database, the problem shows up. It's almost like the browser "resets" itself when the page takes too long to fetch the data from the DB. BTW, I'm using SQLExpress 2005.
Can anybody help? This time I'm really stuck and even googling can't help me. Please give me an hand.
YET ANOTHER UPDATE: It seems to happen with IE (6 & 7) only. Gecko-based browsers run just fine. Really, can't get head nor tail out of this.

The screens do not display properly on safari/Firefox browsers. Make it look like IE. On those browsers – not editable fields are not showing up on screen, very hard to see. And also product demo is not showing different screens (not rotating)

You have posed your question in a somewhat rambling manner making it difficult to know what the real problem is.
However, if it's a layout issue this may be due to styles applied to your markup. Try disabling styles and see if it is still not displaying as you expected. There are some differences in how the various browsers display content, hence the phrase 'cross-browser compatability'. There are numerous sites devoted to styles (CSS) that offer clear advice on layout and styling and how to ensure that your layout looks the same or similar in most of the popular broswers.

You need to follow W3C standards when designing. This helps to keep the design uniform for all browsers. Use W3Cs markup validation service and correct the errors.

Whilst developing a website test it in both browsers DURING development NOT after.

Hi,
I recently moved to Windows Vista, but when I create new web project and press F5 to start debugging a website is not displayed and I get message Application Internet Explorer can't display requested website. I'm not sure what to do. I run Visual Studio 2008 under administrator account.
I also tried to add my http://localhost into trusted servers list and it didn't help either.
Thank you

Bataineh wrote: and tab control not work in firefox explorer
Is that a new browser being a mixture of Mozilla Firefox and Windows Explorer
Did it work in Firefox before you moved it to the webserver?
Are you using a custom tag to do the search or did you write the code yourself? I don't recognise the tags above thats all

I write all the code for the search
it not all put sinceit work good in my pc
i think the error in this ( the code in big )
no it does not work good in firefox

There is obviously a problem with compatability with your web server
You may need to contact the people that own the web server and query why your code won't work.
Im afraid I cant help you more, but your wording is also difficult to understand

you can enter the site www.gkc-jo.com
on firefox and see the problems in the Home page
in the tab control and in the news right the screen

Hi friends,
I am stuck in a strange problem.
I am trying to host Windows Custom Control on Webpage.
I created a Windows Control Libray and put the DLL in the web application's root folder.
in aspx page I have written object tag with classid="http:ControlLibrary.dll#ControlLibrary.ListBosDrag"
Now when I open the page using url "http://localhost/DragDropWeb/Default.aspx" it works fine.
but when I replace localhost with 127.0.0.1 it stops working means windows control appears as a small inaccessible box on the page.
I tried by putting my DLL in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot, but didnt work.
I also change the classid to "Client/1.0.0.0/ControlLibrary.dll#ControlLibrary.ListBosDrag", that too didnt work.
I am not sure if I am missing something somewhere or doing something wrong.
Please help me.
Thank you all in advance.
Thanks and Regards,
Chetan Ranpariya

The IP address you gave is the localhost isnt it.
You need to check within the DLL if the name Localhost is specified, although normally it allows for both IP address and localhost.
Have you tried compiling your project again and putting the dll in the bin folder?
Ive never encountered this error before so these are only suggestions

Hi,
Thank you very much for the reply.
You are right the IP address 127.0.0.1 is for localhost. But I dont know how but they works in different way.
I am not putting my Control DLL in bin folder of my WebSite (rememeber its WebSite not Web Application) but i am putting it in WebApp folder itself and it working fine for localhost.
I tried by creating a web site on server 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost. It created a the project at the same place as it creates when we use localhost it is C:\Inetpub\localhost.
Then I tried with differenct syntaxes of classid of OBJECT tag.
classid="clsid:41a5e061-af81-4e45-b383-33948f4f6269"
classid="http:DragAndDropControlLibrary.dll#DragAndDropControlLibrary.ListboxDrag"
Still it did not work.
I tried to put the Control DLL to the bin folder of the website but could not succeed.
I hope this can clear the area.
Thank you again.
Thanks and Regards,
Chetan Ranpariya
