Does Session.SessionID change on every postback for the same user?

Hello,
In my pageInit I have
mSesID=Session.SessionID.ToString();

Each time a postback occurs, I receive a new sessionID #. Is this correct? Shouldn't the session be the same session value even during postbacks for the same user?

I assumed it would always be the same value, but I'm probably wrong.

I'm not sure but you could easily create a new guid and store that in session. Then you would have an identifier.

I didn't get any requirements for the signature

According to MSDN it should be unique for the session. See Here[^]

You will receive different sessionID while you havent save something in the session
Once you save something in the session, the sessionID will remain the same

Hi Everyone !

I have have small problem.
"I work with visual studio 2005."

HOW to do if i want to load different Menus depending on the profil of users (general admin, local admin, simple user)
I have a connection page there is an authentication by windows, after this the welcome page contains Different menus I need to know HOW to DO to LOAD the right menu acording to the users rights. My menu is directly in the Master Page

you load different menus for different user. One way to do is supply different datasource.

Hi, its depend on the users who log if you want to enabled or disabled a menu.

for example:

''Masterpage load
Session("users")=id_manager

if session("users") = id_manager then

menu1.enabled=true

else

menu1.enabled=false

endif

HI,
i have a formview with an itemtemplate that contains a table and a number of rows and columns. There is a label control in here that i want to assign a value at runtime.
i have tried
Label lbl=formview.findcontrol("labelname");
but the lbl is never found , possible because of the table. i need the table because i want to show data in different 4 columns making up three rows...
how would i find this control and assign it the value

I have 3 webpages identified, then I would like to make another one with automatic refresh every 10 seconds, and then in every refresh display one of the other three in order.

Is there a simple way in asp to accomplish this?

As said, you want to dispaly the page one by one on each refres so how come to know which one was last displayed.

Hi, I have 3 .resx file, its using for language. For PrecompiledWeb;

I convert "Resource.en.resx" to "Resource.en.resources" using with ResGen.exe.

I convert "Resource.en.resources" to "App_GlobalResources.resources.dll" using with al.exe.

I do this operation for turkish and russian languages. So I have 3 App_GlobalResources.resources.dll for each language.

I paste this dll file in relevant directory. For example; ....\bin\en-US

But I browse the web site it's not work. May be I merge this file using with aspnet_merge.exe and I get App_GlobalResources.dll but how I don't know.

How do solve my problem?

Not: I check "Allow this precompiled site to be updatable" when publish web site.

Add new row to a Datalist

My datalist has two textboxes, one dropdown and one checkbox. There is also a button "Add" on the page. Every time the "Add" button is clicked, a new row should be added to the datalist, with all the controls on the row.

Kindly help.

You have to use templates. One of the templates is named new item or something like that.

Is your datalist bound to a list? if so, just add an item to the list and rebind, it should add a new item to the datalist

I need help.
How can I get binary data from flash and save image?
I don't know byte variable binding streaming data.

try using

byte[] b = System.IO.File.ReadAllBytes(fileLocation);
System.IO.File.WriteAllBytes(fileLocation, binaryArray);

I started to use c# recently.
I'm not very competant for c#.

Can you please try for me.

a.htm is flash file. It sends binary data(jpg file) to default.aspx
and .aspx file saves it as jpg from captured data.

Good Afternoon All

I have a Gridview that looks like this

As you can see in the Description Field there are Duplicates but with Different Cycle Template Field. I want my grid to look like this

DESCR          |CYCLE TEMPLATE  
-------------------------------
Campbell Nancy |"6 10"        |
-------------------------------
Salhab W MR    |"9"           |
-------------------------------

If it Finds a Duplicate it must Add the Cyle Template and Diplay it as a String and if there is no Duplicate , it must be Left with that String like Salhab W MR is "9"

I do not know if the way I am telling is a correct way. But I solved this problem for me like this.

1) Fetch the data from the database into datatable.
2) Create another datatable and add new row to it.
3) Get the "Description" Column and add it as a column to the new table. Get the corresponsing Cycle Template solumn and add to table.
4) Loop throught the table with table.Select() to get all the rows having same description.
5) For each such row, get the cycle template and add it to the same column (Cycle Template which you added previously)

In short, create a dynamic table this way and bind it to grid.
