I know that md5 is one way hash.
Actually am storing passwords in plain text only in the database,because at one glance one cant say the actual password from the database(again he has to decrypt the whole thing using symmetric key logic which i dont want to use).and am using md5 with salt which doesnt show the plain text to the end user.
But in the changed password,the new password am encrypting with md5 but problem occuring while updating the data.
which is the best way to do while password change?please send me some code snippet,so that i may get some idea.
The above code i have send is working perfectly while login.which i have to use.

You cannot decrypt when using MD5 because it is one way encryption.
Instead use some encryption/Decryption technique.

iam using a formview control in my project..
and iam trying to update fields of 2 tables using formview..
table1:Personal_details:
columns:P_id --->primary key
Emp_id-->foreign key
First_name
table2:Educational_qualification
columns:Eq_id ->primary key
Emp_id ->foreign key
Institute..
these 2 tables are connected by column Emp_id
My update command of formview control is:

Okay..now the funny thing is that the same code works if it is copied to another new pages with nothing but just the above code and a button.
Weird.

Hi all,
i want to open an existing word document in a folder in the project,path of that file is stored in oracle table.
When i click a link button a query should be executed to take the corresponding path,then with that path the file should be opened.
i tried like this..
