window.open()[^] should do it.

To child page, pass it through query string. window.opener.document gives you access to the parent page's document.

I need to be able to transfer to a URL and supply the login details while doing so.
Prior to MS IE security update 832894 the following was possible:
http://username:password@domain
The workarounds in the KB article aren't applicable to me as I don't have access to modify the registry settings in IE for the client machines.
How do I provide the security credentials so that I can programmatically transfer users to the required URL.
I've investigated using system.net.networkcredentials in conjunction with the system.net.webrequest and system.net.webclient objects but they only allow me to retrieve and manipulate the response of the request.
I want to actually transfer to the site.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I try to use CSS to change the property (color, hover color, and so on) of Linkbutton and BulletedLIst.
it does not have any effect.
I searched google, it seems no one can clarify this, what happens then?
any real expert can clarify this?
thank you.

What problem are you having ... ???
See what I did, and its working fine...
In Head section Add
<style type="text/css">
.blt
{
background-color:Red;
}
.lnk
{
background-color:Green;
}
.lnk:hover
{
background-color:Aqua;
}
</style>
Now inside Form create these
<asp:BulletedList runat="server" ID="bltList" CssClass="blt">
<asp:ListItem>This is list</asp:ListItem>
<<asp:ListItem>This is list</asp:ListItem>
<asp:ListItem>This is list</asp:ListItem>
</asp:BulletedList>
<asp:LinkButton CssClass="lnk" runat="server" >This is link
</asp:LinkButton>
Now run. I think you will see BulletedList in Red background and LinkButton in Green Background which on hover change color to Aqua...
Hope this help you ..

|
|
thanks, but it does not work.
only the background of the the whole bulletedlist is changed, but:
1) I want to change the text color when the mouse is hover
2) background color is not changed at all for linkbutton.
am I right? can you try it?
thanks again.

I have tried it already and it seems to me working correctly. You add :
color : red; on the style element of Bulleted list.
I dont know why background color of linkbutton is not working. Try placing !important just after it and see if it is working.
Like background-color:Green; !important
or directly write
a{
background-color:Green;
}
see if it is working or not.
|
|
|
|
|
strange, it does not work for my case, it seems to me that I can only change the background color, and the text color is not changed
moreover, Forecolor="Blue" does not make the text be blue and make only the bullet blue, how to change the text to be blue then?

The only reason that may be possible which prevents this is you have global CSS which applies to all <a> tags. Check whether there is any css applied to this which prevents this.
Also check if there is some theme set to your website having default CSS.

I would like to add a new row to a gridview using javascript. The code errors on the last line because I think the reference lgrd = null. How can I get this to work?
var lgrd = document.getElementById('<%=GridView3.ClientID%>');
var tr = document.createElement("tr");
var cell1 = document.createElement("td");
var celln = document.createElement("td");
cell1.innerHTML = "hi";
celln.innerHTML = "hi";
tr.appendChild(cell1);
tr.appendChild(celln);
lgrd.firstChild.appendChild(tr);

If you really want to manipulate html using Javascript then why should you go for Gridview.. I would recommend to create your own HTML using Repeater, and then you will find this very easy to manipulate html using Javascript.
The code will add one Row in the table if lgrd holds the table which Gridview3 renders. IF you are sure that your page is not within any masterpage then use
document.getElementById('GridView3') directly. Actually the id of table is not assigned in the ClientId of a GridView Control.
So you cant use GridView3.ClientId

Hi all
I got one error when i am trying to get backup of database.
my error is:An exception of type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.FailedOperationException' occurred in Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo.dll but was not handled in user code
The medium on device 'd:\' expires on Aug 21 2009 6:44:24:000PM and cannot be overwritten.
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
my code is:
ServerConnection connection = new ServerConnection(con);
Server sqlServer = new Server(connection);
sqlBackup.SqlBackup(sqlServer); //i got error on this line
con is object of sqlconnection
Thanks

You are trying to overwrite a new backup to existing backup file for which expiration date is set.. and this is not advisable. You can try using init skip parameters in your backup command which will initialise the backup file. Firstly existing backup data will be removed and so your data expiration date check would be skipped. Google for init skip params.
Best Of Luck.

hi
I have a web based project with asp.net and vb.net.I want to get the hardware information of clients for example cpu,RAM,etc.and save this information in database,I dont want to do it with javascript or activeX control.I think it might be a way to do it through active directory..
if anybody could help me plz answer my post
thanks

Web is a secured environment. You are not accessing directly through LAN using active directory user account.
AFIK, it is impossible to get CPU and RAM info. The only info available to you from the client is what comes through Request Header.

Hi All,
I have string which is composed of non English characters(in Indian language). I copied it from some portal and pasted in notepad, while saving file i changed Encoding to UNICODE.
I display the text on webpage using
StreamReader srunicode = new StreamReader(@".....\Enc\Unicode.txt");
Response.Write(srunicode.ReadToEnd());
above code snippets gives expected result.
Now if I pick some part of string and assign to string variable
string sData = "प्रश्न";
Response.Write(sData);
shows some unreadable characters.
Do i need to convert the encoding format?
I tried adding below line in Head element
Still no effect.... Plz help

Hi Yogesh,
I think you need something more-Internationalization[^].
In case, if you do not have such a generic information then I am not sure of this.

Hello,
The below code returns the image-button that causes the post back. However it causes another problem. when I clicked one of the image_button (that is placed in datalist), the items of that datalist disappear.
Please, please help. I am dealing with this problem for a while now, and it is drawing me crazy.
Please click on any "Ekle" button in this Page[^] to what I mean.
private string getPostBackControlName()
{
Control control = null;
string ctrlname = Page.Request.Params["__EVENTTARGET"];
if (ctrlname != null && ctrlname != String.Empty)
{
control = Page.FindControl(ctrlname);
}
else
{
string ctrlStr = String.Empty;
Control c = null;
foreach (string ctl in Page.Request.Form)
{
if (ctl.EndsWith(".x") || ctl.EndsWith(".y"))
{
ctrlStr = ctl.Substring(0, ctl.Length - 2);
c = Page.FindControl(ctrlStr);
}
else
{
c = Page.FindControl(ctl);
}
if (c is System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button ||
c is System.Web.UI.WebControls.ImageButton)
{
control = c;
}
}
}
if (control != null)
{
return control.ID;
}
else { return "budegil";}

Check if you bind always gridview on page load.
try this
<br />
if(!Page.IsPostBack)<br />
{<br />
}
