Hi Sebastian,

object[] _fieldNames = new object[11];
object[] _fieldValues = new object[11];
_fieldNames[0] = "Set";
_fieldValues[0] = 1;
Output = call.Ex("A", _fieldNames, _fieldValues);
Can u tell me where i am wrong

Well it seems that the client "call" you are using doesn't generate the correct soap-request. Look at the wsdl of the webservice and compare if the soap-request matches the wsdl. If not, the problem is the "call" object. How did you created it?

Hi,
I want to search a database for some documents and then present the search results from my web application.
I thought about using a GridView but that will display strictly in columns/rows. What I want is to display several rows for each result like this:
----------------------------------------------
Search Result #1
This is a bit of text describing the document
This is the actual URL of the document
Search Result #2
This is a bit of text describing the document
This is the actual URL of the document
etc.
-----------------------------------------------
Can anyone suggest a good approach? I can't use GridView for this and TextArea won't work either will it? Any other ideas?

Maybe a Repeater control?

You may have a look at Repeater [^]control.

in your case try to create a stored procedure attach it with crystal report and make sure that stored prcedure accept parametors..
pass parametors from C# or vb to crystal report in order to filter or display data what every you want..

Hi.. I am using the following code for my remoting example.
When I use MarshalByRefObject it works fine.
using System;<br />
<br />
namespace ns_application<br />
{<br />
namespace ns_authentication<br />
{<br />
public class cls_registeruser : MarshalByRefObject<br />
{<br />
private string _username;<br />
<br />
public cls_registeruser(string username)<br />
{<br />
_username = username;<br />
Console.WriteLine("Registered User :" + _username);<br />
}<br />
<br />
public cls_registeruser()<br />
{<br />
_username = "NULL";<br />
Console.WriteLine("Username is " + _username);<br />
}<br />
~cls_registeruser()<br />
{<br />
Console.WriteLine("User deleted" + _username);<br />
}<br />
<br />
public string username<br />
{<br />
get{return _username;}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}
But when I try to use [Serializable] it shows error "Trying to create a proxy to an unbound type".
<br />
using System;<br />
<br />
namespace ns_application<br />
{<br />
namespace ns_authentication<br />
{<br />
[Serializable]<br />
public class cls_registeruser<br />
{<br />
private string _username;<br />
<br />
public cls_registeruser(string username)<br />
{<br />
_username = username;<br />
Console.WriteLine("Registered User :" + _username);<br />
}<br />
<br />
public cls_registeruser()<br />
{<br />
_username = "NULL";<br />
Console.WriteLine("Username is " + _username);<br />
}<br />
~cls_registeruser()<br />
{<br />
Console.WriteLine("User deleted" + _username);<br />
}<br />
<br />
public string username<br />
{<br />
get{return _username;}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
As far as I know :
"MarshalByRefObject" will give me a reference to an object created on the server. All the execution will take place on the server.
"Serializable" will send to me the object state, and the execution will be done at the client machine itself.
But at some places I see the following usage :
<br />
[Serializable]<br />
public class_name : MarshalByRefObject<br />
What does this mean?
Also, if [Serializable] is there, what is the use of "ISerializable" interface.
Waiting for responses guyz... I have googled a lot already but am not getting a clear picture.
|
|
|
|
|
is it anyhow related to ASP.NET
|
|
|
|
|
Yes it is .. unless there is a specific message board for .net remoting .

Might adding http:// cause it to know it's a web address ? ( this has nothing to do wtih ASP.NET, btw )

I tried It That way too. If I add Http:// The it says URI format not supported and if i remove that then it says path not found as it adds the extra path thill bin dir to the actula path

Looking at your code a bit more, I am not surprised. You're asking the mail code to do a HTTP transfer on your behalf, but I doubt that is supported. So, the error is correct. Why do you want to mail an image from a hard coded URL ? Why not make that image a local file ?

See That Image is a local file but Silverlight or WCf service can't access the local path of the client system. so i uploaded that on my server using a WCF for upload files. now attaching it to the mail. as silverlight has its contrains...
|
|
|
|
|
Well, I would imagine if there's a solution, it involves doing a HTTP request to get the file bytes, I know silverlight gives you a sandbox you could use to save the file, and then send it from there.

If you knw that then plz do let me knw too as i googled and binged a lot on that and final solution is to use a webservice or wcf. so we are using wcf. I am egarly waiting to know the solution.

I have no idea, I know that expecting email code to take a URL as an attachment is not going to work, and I know you're still asking in the wrong forum. Perhaps someone in the right forum, will know enough to help you.

can you please tell me in which fourm to ask this. I have posted it in silverlight, wcf and web devlopment too.
|
|
|

Well, spamming the whole site is just rude. Silverlight is the right forum. As I said in the outset, this has nothing to do with ASP.NET. The silverlight forum might be a little slower, you might wait a bit longer for a reply.

Hi,
Have you tried this .. this is not my code .. I got it from net...
<br />
Dim client As New WebClient<br />
Dim strURL As String = "http://www.someurl.com/sendfile.php?file=myfile.gz"<br />
Dim strFilename As String = Server.MapPath("myfile.gz")<br />
client.DownloadFile(strURL, strFilename)
|
|
|
|
|
Server.Mappath is not supported in WCF
|
|
|
|
|
server.mappath is being used to generate a local path(local to the server) .. u can use absolute path.
|
|
|
|
|
sorry I didn't Get What You want to conevy. can you please explain with an example?
