No, shouldn't be required. You're connecting to localhost?

Yes i'm trying to connect with the local host but itz not connecting...

I can only guess at the problem at this point; Cassini won't install on this system. In theory you should be able to point your browser to 127.0.0.1 and at least serve some HTML files.
Is the Cassini-application running and visible in the system tray?

Hi folks,
I've created custom Membership provider and Role provider. Membership provider is working perfect but role provider is not working.
The error "The ConnectionString property has not been initialized" is thrown and line of error is shown in Web.config file like below:
<roleManager enabled="true" cacheRolesInCookie="true" defaultProvider="MyRoleProvider">
<providers>
Error is shown in the following line>>
<big><add name="MyRoleProvider" connectionStringName="MWXConnectionString" applicationName="MyApp" type="Company.Providers.Roles.MyRoleProvider, Company.Providers"/></big>
</providers>
</roleManager>
I tried to change the value of TYPE attribute to check if my assembly is working. When I change the value error comes to say "Cant load the assembly....", which indicates that TYPE attribute is correct.
I tried to debug and inserted break point in Initialize method, but its never called, hence cant break on the code.
NOTE: SAME CONNECTION STRING(NAME) IS WORKING FOR Membership provider AND PROVIDER PROJECT IS IN SAME SOLUTION AND WEBSITE PROJECT AND WEB PROJECT HAS REFERENCE TO THE PROVIDER PROJECT
Now I am confused, where is (which line causes) error. Anybody can tell me the reason or at least how to debug and reach the Initialize method??

Hi,
I am working on a simple user registration form in ASP.NET using C#.
I created a check for “UserID”, when user will click “Submit” button then my logic will check into database for UserID “Already Exist in database or not”
I tried this same login on “User ID” Textbox (textchange event), but it is not working , please let me know where to write this code for TextBox .
THanks

Here is an Explanation for your problem.
Here is ur ui how it looks like.
FirstName : Text-Box
LastName : Text-Box
UserID : Text-Box
Email ID : Text-Box
Password : Text-Box
now whenever u press the button Submit take all the values of the textboxes and pass it as ur input parameters to ur stored procedure and write down the following query in ur Stored Procedure.
If Exist(select UserID from Users where UserID = @UserID)
BEGIN
SET @ErrorNo = 101
SET @ErrorMsg = "User ID already Exists"
return ;
END
Note : Here @ErrorNo and @ErrorMsg are local variables created in Stored Procedure.

1: No one will 'send' you any code.
2: DO NOT PUT YOUR EMAIL IN A POST: no one will use it except spammers: good luck with that.
Okay, the purpose of these forums is to help with a specific problem you find after having tried to solve the problem on your own: it is not here to supply you with a complete application. So, what have you tried? Where did you get stuck? What have you already done to address the issue?

Hiii sriharsha2410
Here is the solution for your problem...
Do one thing whenever you disable button apply a CSS to that button named "cssDisable" and in that css change the color of the button or background of the same button.
And Whenever you Enable that button apply another CSS to that buton named "cssEnable" and in that css change the color of the button or background of the same button as u want when it is enabled.
Thank you.

Hi folks,
I'm building a Data Access Layer that connects to an Oracle 9i db. Most of the SELECT queries with = parameters work fine, for example:
SELECT * EMAIL_ADDRESS, EMPLOYEE_NUMBER WHERE SURNAME = :sname
However, I need to carry out a filtered search using the LIKE clause and can't get it to work. Here is what I've for:
SELECT EMAIL_ADDRESS, EMPLOYEE_NUMBER, FIRST_FORENAME FROM [table name] WHERE (SURNAME LIKE '%:sname%')
This does not work, as the paramter gets lost within the '' and the value is treated purely as %:sname%
I've looked around the internet for clues and as yet have found nothing on the correct sytnax. Surely I'm not the first person to have to carry out a LIKE search on an Oracle db using a data set?
Can anyone help? Is there an alternative method that I can use?
Many Thanks,
Alan R
