Hi
I have been stuck withl this problem for sometime now. I want to programatically add recurring event to my google calendar. But i'm not able to get correct format for the recurring rule string. I'm able to add a non-recurring event, but when i set recurring rule to a event an try to insert this event, i get
"(400)Bad Request" error. Can somebody share a working example of using Recurrence Rule to add event to google calendar.
My example code and forum discussion can also be found at :

I have an embedded css resource which contains styling info for a table. When I run my app, the table is shown with the styles specified. During design time, these styles are not applied to my table. More info below. I think my problem may be that the OnPreRender may not be run during design time. What are my options?
Thanks in advance.
assembly.cs:
[assembly: WebResource("MyNamespace.StyleSheet.css", "text/css", PerformSubstitution=true)]
MyControl.cs:
void RegisterStyleSheet()
{
string includeTemplate =
"<link rel='stylesheet' text='text/css' href='{0}' />";
string includeLocation =
Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(this.GetType(), "MyNamespace.StyleSheet.css");
LiteralControl include =
new LiteralControl(String.Format(includeTemplate, includeLocation));
((System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlHead)Page.Header).Controls.Add(include);
}
protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e)
{
RegisterStyleSheet();
base.OnPreRender(e);
}

Figured it out. I changd the RegisterStyleSheet to return a string:
string RegisterStyleSheet()
{
string includeTemplate =
"<link rel='stylesheet' text='text/css' href='{0}' />";
string includeLocation =
Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(this.GetType(), "Fyuzon.Membership.Web.Css.BaseGridStyleSheet.css");
return String.Format(includeTemplate, includeLocation);
}
and override the RenderControl with the following:
public override void RenderControl(HtmlTextWriter writer)
{
writer.Write(this.RegisterStyleSheet());
base.RenderControl(writer);
}
Works like a charm... If there is a better way of doing this, please do let me know.

Hi,
I needed to create some controls in itemdatabound(grid) coz the number of controls to be rendered was only known at item databound of grid. the controls needed to raise event so i added events at runtime. All was working fine until recently i was asked to have another view for those controls outside the grid. I managed to create the controls once again in pageload. but the treeview was having viewstate problems coz controls once loaded and then if changed , the viewstate for the previous controls was being assigned to current controls. I managed to solve this by disabling viewstate for all the controls but now i see that the checkbox checkedchanged event is raised only when it is checked.
The reason being that on pageload , since the checkbox has no viewstate, so the default value being unchecked is considered changed only if checkbox is checked.
The problem gets solved when i enable viewsate but i can't enable viewstate.
Is there any work around for this issue... . can the viewstate be assigned values for a particular checkbox and then removed at a button click, because there is a save button and if i can clear viewstate values at click of that button then probably it would work. I have tried clearviewstate and its not working.
Please provide help
Thanks

So the problem is with a treeview? I can't tell from your question if the gridview is relevant or even on the same page. Are you changing the viewstate setting at the control level or the page level? I am not sure what "previous controls" you are talking about either. I think your best approach is to solve the viewstate problems the treeview was having before you turned off viewstate. You should never be forced to turn off viewstate to get something to work.
The gridview should provide a naming container to prevent name collisions between the two sets of controls, but maybe you are adding them in some weird way.

Is it possible to submit a specific region on a form rather than submitting the entire form.
I have many controls on a aspx page. If one of the control is submitted through a button i want that control to be updated and pass values. The problem is I couldn't put two form tag inside apx page. Is it even allowed.
Thanks

Hello coders,
I am getting one problem in the saving the items information. I have taken one textbox for the NumberOfAssets based on which further generates the respective textboxes. And Before saving the information, I want to implement the validation check on those dynamically generated textboxes i.e. those textboxes must not be empty.
For instance, If I enter 3 (integer value) in the "NumberOfAssets" textbox, it further generates the 3 textboxes, And before saving the window form, there must be a validation check for those 3 textboxes.
I could not come up with the solution that how to put the validation using For Loop and where to do it
as well..
please help ....

How are you creating the other textboxes? Add RequiredField Validators along with the textboxes.

Hi all,
I need to make an application it should have two level menu.
for this i created two master pages.
Can i select First master page for second mater page(nested concepts).?
I have done that but the content of second level master page is not appearing in the content page of second master page.
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, you can have nested master pages, but for creating a two level menu why would you do this?

The situation is like that
Level 0ne Link1 Link2 Link3
Level two Link2.1 Link2.2 Link2.3
Level three Link2.1.1 Link2.1.2 Link2.1.3
all level coming from database so i don't want to create upper level menu all time.

|
|

Nested master pages are overkill for this situation. Just build the menu as necessary. Possibly use divs to contain the menus and show/hide as necessary.

Assuming that the set of menus are defined by the user type, you could build .js files with static menus per user type. Include the appropriate .js file dynamically according to the user.
Alternately, include the .js files in the correct set of pages with a particular menu level.

For that matter what is the use of the ASP.NET page, it can all be done with JavaScript.

I had a drop down list and populating with installed printer.
On server/development pc its giving list.
But when i host in IIS and access it from remote it giving server/host printer list.
Is there a way by which i can get client side printer list.
I want to print a label on printer selected by client.
Regards
|

Without looking at your code but looking at your post, it is clear that the code for populating that printer drop down is written at server side. So it would NEVER show you the client's list of printers, it will show you the list of printers on the server.
It is important that you understand this fundamental concept.
To achieve what you need - you will have to write some client side scripting or ActiveX - though I am not sure that can be achieved since the browser may not be allowed to have access to the client's resources through script.
Generally, it is the end user's responsibility (privilege?) to select the printer he wants to use. You can put out some advise for the user to select a correct printer.
Hope this helps.
