Hello,
Thanks for the reply, before I upload it to the hosting site detach my sql server database and I used to connect it using sql authentication. For the ms access database I think I set it up correctly. I tried commenting out the block of code using sql server but I still get an error. I tried the web service in my localhost and it works fine but when I tried to upload it I cant seem to make it work.
Below is the hosting site where I tried to upload my web service, I tried to follow it as on what they say for the connectionstring

Any help are kindly appreciated.
Thanks,
DAN

Check the connection string of the MDB file. Try to use Server.Mappath() .

Hi all,
I want to know what are the evens that automatically executed when page is loaded in asp.net.There are 7 such events. Listed,
1. Page Request
2. Start
3. Initialization
4. Load
5. Postback Event Loading
6. Rendering
7. Unload
So my question is what are the methods picked up here. I've listed what I know in the order of execution, with the event related with as a comment on the body of the method
protected void Page_Init(object sender, EventAgs e)
{
}
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
}
protected void Page_LoadComplete(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
}
I'm lost with mapping, controlling other events. Can anyone of you comment on this?
Thanks
I appreciate your help all the time...

Hello CP. I have a question regarding table relationships in an Access 2007 database in combination with the DataGrid in ASP .NET 4.0 (C#). In Access I have two tables set up like this:
Table1 Columns: ID, ObjName, Phone
Table2 Columns: ID, TheTitle, Obj
The field "Obj" in Table 2 stores a value from Table 1. In Access, I have it set so that it stores Table1.ID as the Table2.Obj value. However, I set it to display Table1.ObjName rather than Table1.ID. This is what I wish to achieve in an ASP .NET DataGrid.
I have read up on the DataRelation object and I have Google'd quite a bit. I have had no luck in finding the solution that I need. I have my ASP .NET page running a basic SELECT query, selecting all records in Table2. All is well, except the third column in the DataGrid displays the "Obj" column's value (from Table1.ID) rather than displaying the "Table1.ObjName" associated with said Table1.ID. How would I go about doing this?
Would I be better off creating my own table-like layout and parsing each record? Or am I missing something? I am not asking for the "code that will solve my problem without me doing it myself". But some sort of related code example and/or pseudo code would be fine if possible.
Thanks CP.

Ok fairly simple setup, I have a ssrs report embedded in my application. I know how to use the top% and bottom% filter. But I would like to split it into thirds..
is there a way to do top33.33% bottom 33.33% and middle 33.33%? never mind why as that is another issue but is there any way to do this?
one list uses top 1/3, second list uses middle 1/3 and third list uses bottom 1/3. This can be split simply by Primary keys or any column that is unique as the order does not matter, simply that I get the split right. Am I blowing smoke and wasting my time? or can this be done.

Hi all,
I have created a webapplication in c#.
I am having a treeview which is in the form of
t1
|_ t2
| |_t3
| |_t4
|
|_t5
|_t6
when i count the nodes i should get 3 that is t3,t4,t5 but i am getting t2,t3 and t5.
Can any one tell me how can i solve this.
Thanks in advance.

Try this :
private void button_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
int count = CountTree(treeView1.Nodes);
MessageBox.Show(treeView1.Nodes.Count.ToString(), "Number of root nodes");
MessageBox.Show(count.ToString(), "Total number of nodes");
}
private int CountTree(TreeNodeCollection root)
{
int count = 0;
foreach (TreeNode n in root)
count += 1 + CountTree(n.Nodes);
return count;
}
Hope this helps.
All the best.

Hi
In popup window calling thr javascript menthod
window.showModalDialog("URL" ,"Arg1", dialogHeight: 600px; dialogWidth: 950px; edge: Raised; center: yes; help: No; scroll: Yes; status: No;");
While clicking that populate some information those are made in Page_Load call back method at begin
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (!IsPostBack)
{
}
}
After clocing the popup window , Once again Viewing the popup window its IsPostBack Properity return true value so doesnt populate some information to that page.
How check these on page_load ..

window.showModalDialog("URL" ,"Arg1", dialogHeight: 600px; dialogWidth: 950px; edge: Raised; center: yes; help: No; scroll: Yes; status: No;");
You have quote mark before closing parenthesis; is that suppose to be there?

Hi,
Pass a random number every time with url, other wise it load page from cache.
for example
window.showModalDialog("abc.aspx?id=randID=" + Math.random() % 1000 ,"Arg1", dialogHeight: 600px; dialogWidth: 950px; edge: Raised; center: yes; help: No; scroll: Yes; status: No;");
Thanks

Sometimes it holds some value in cache. So passing Random number can work.

The closest you're going to get on a web page is BorderStyle="Groove" unless you make your own control to use instead of the Label.

Hi guys I tried applying graphics through skin using the way presented in this site http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ykzx33wh.aspx
It worked with asp .net 3.5 but with 4.0 I didn't work. When I viewed the page source I get
for asp.net 3.5
and i get
for asp.net 4.0
It seems asp.net 4.0 doesn't replace ImageUrl attribute with src when rendering
My question is: do I have problem with asp.net 4.0 that I need to repair/reinstall or is it something else?

Hi,
Are you missing runat="server" attribute in img tag?
<img id="image" runat="server" src="~/App_Themes/test/Contoso.gif" style="border-width:0px;">
ImageUrl is the property of asp:Image (Image control). So, you could also write like:
<asp:Image id="MainContent_Image1" runat="server" ImagerUrl="~/images/Contoso.gif" />
Hope this will help.
