Hi,
I can't exactly send you error because this error is occured to my friend and he asked me about solution.
Basically I want to know what can I use SERVER.MAPPATH to locate database if yes what is use of web config file in asp.net.

Web config file is not solely for storing connection info. Any configuration settings can be defined and consumed from the web application is a similar way to app.config files for windows forms/console applications.
Also, the web config file stores environment and security settings such as error output, page trace settings, security impersonation settings and much much more.

Hi,
For more information I read one article which explain some uses of web.config file.
According to Article you can set your login page as start page when application start.Code is as below
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms loginurl="login.aspx" name="3345C" timeout="1">
When I set any other(i.e. adduser.aspx) page as start page and I run application adduser.aspx page displyed instead of login page.
Can you explain me why it is so.

I want to make a windows application on my computer for chating with my website clients...
Infact the web application have been uploaded on the Web Hosting Service server so I want the web application to transfer data to my windows application and vice versa so it is possible to chat other website clients through the web application(the web application represents other clients where the windows application represents me).

Hi,
I have janus control listview.Now my problem is if i want to sort the contents of this listview in numeric order rather than alphabetical order how do i do that. It is given that using Sorted and SortType properties we can achieve this.But they are not supported .I am using asp.net 1.1 framework.How do i achieve this task now.

Hi,
I've two webforms. When a condition is satisfied, I need to pop up a webform as a modal dialog box where the user can enter some text.After submitting this child form, the user had to be redirected to some other webform. Inorder to catch the text,I've used a session variable.
What I've worked is......
In html page, I've written
function giveReason(w,h)

Instead use this
var winSettings = "dialogWidth:350px;dialogHeight:300px; help: no; status: no";
var qs = "../Calender/Calender.aspx";
var values = window.showModalDialog(qs,'cal',winSettings);
Where values will have all the return values from child form.
In Child Form:
var MyArgs = new Array();
MyArgs[0] = value1;
MyArgs[1] = value2;
window.returnValue = MyArgs;
window.close();

I have a process to be run at the end of year in a leave management system. The process is started when the start process button is pressed, I need to show the employee number currently been processed in a label or a text box. What i did was i gave (Ex : text1.text = tabel(0).row(0).item(0)) when the record is bean read in the for loop. but it shoes only the last record in the process because the processing bar in the page was activated while the process is on. Is there another way to show the record that is being processed in the text box.

It gives error at statement in bold
Incorrect syntax near '='.

KeySkills expects nvarchar, so the code should be
set @Where = ' KeySkills = ''' + @KeySkills + ''''
The '' above are two single quotes.
However, after saying that, you should use sp_executesql instead which to execute your dynamic sql, which accepts the following parameter:
EXEC sp_executesql @sqlString, @paramlist, [@param1], [@param2], ...
@sqlString example is 'SELECT * FROM tblA WHERE KeySkills = @KeySkills'
@paramlist is a list of parameters your sqlString requires, e.g.
SET @paramlist = '@KeySkills nvarchar(50), @Param2 nvarchar(50)'
@param1 to @paramN are your parameter values, it has to correspond to the exact ordering in @paramlist (e.g. @KeySkills have to be passed as first parameter).
