Hi,
I have a money field in my database.
I retrieve the value from a sql server 2005 db, using GetSQLMoney() in asp.net
I bind this to an object, like objPanelMem.GetSQLMoney(10)
The problem is, now I retrieve the currency EG "235.6800". I would only like to retrieve the currency as "235.68". How can I do this?

I have the following code:
Label1.Text = "Click " & "<a ref='JavaScript:window.history.go(-2)>Back</a>"
I would like to align to left the label text in run-time.
Thanx

AFAIK, the alignment will be relative to the parent of the text. So if the label is inside a table, set the column's alignment, if its inside a div, set its alignment and so on...
For runtime behaviour you might need to use some DHTML.
I may also be completely wrong since today does not seem to be a bright day for me.

You can use onitemdatabound event of the datagrid to perform this task(if you want to put new page to go synamically) or there in the html part also you can give the page to navigate if it is there in the database and you don't have to perform any operation on that.
Also Here[^] you can get so many examples on datagrid.

Hi people
Which has better performance in ASP.Net: "InLine Code" or "Code Behind" ??
I think InLine is faster than codebehind,
and you ????

I think you're nuts.
If anything, code behind will be faster, but as it's precompiled, I expect it's the same. The only difference is that inline code is an unmaintainable mess.

Regardless, you can't make decisions like in-line vs code-behind based on performance reasons. "Make it right, then make it fast."

If you have Word installed, I believe it will just oepn in the browser. The same needs to be true of any file, if you want to view it in your app, IE needs to be able to view it.

This is ASP.Net forum. Please post this in another forum.
By the way, you can use Application.DoEvents.

Hello,
I add a table to my webform (3 rows,3 columns). In each one of the cells, I am inserting a button.
I would like to hide the table in run-time and then the 9 buttons will be hidded.
Is it possible?
Eric H.

|
|
|

yes you can use javascript code to show and hide the html table using style.display = 'none' .

How i am doing this from codebehind.
I have to do it when I am clicking on a button(control server).
(I gave an ID=Table1 to my table).

|
|
|

Why you want to do it on server side if you can do the same on client side using javascript?
Best Regards,

because I am doing a lot of other operations in addition of hiding the 9 buttons.
Eric H.
|
|
|

In that case you can just make that html table a server side control and then you can hide it using visible = false;

I though about this solution, may it cause some problems?
If not this is the best solution for my case.
Thanx

This will not cause any problem only thing is there will be a round trip to the server which should be avoided if not required.

Hi,
Can anybody send me a tutorial on how to handle a dynamic dropdownlist in vb asp.net. What I want is to have 2 dropdownlist. In my first dropdownlist, I have the list of departments. Then in my second dropdown list, I have the list of the members of each department. So if I select Human Resource in my first drop down list, members from HR team in my second dropdown list will be enumerated and so on with other department.
I really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
|
|
|
|
|
What you need to do is first fill the first dropdownlist(department) at the page load event and then on the SelectedIndexChanged fill the second dropdownlist(members) by getting the filtered records(members only associated with selected department).
