Salam
Could i set out a master page in viewstate...Or Give me any suggession how to fix/static MasterPage....Because i don't want to postback Masterpage while loading child page....
I know whenever child page open its also compile masterpage...I handle menu right for using Session but not maitain Treeview state....
Means if user open tree 3rd level node and page is postback then again tree populated through Database but not maintain its state....not display 3 level node.
Thanks...

As I explained to you yesterday, that's not possible.

This is probably your problem, if you load the data from the database, then the viewstate will be lost, and it will reset itself.
Did you check the infragistic site, or just wait 24 hours to post the same question again, in the hope that the answer would change ?

Everything was working fine until I did something earlier today. And now my code can't see anything in the App_Code folder:
Compiler Error Message: CS0246: The type or namespace name 'alexegg' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
The namespace alexegg is the code in the App_Code folder.
Here's what I've isolated to:
If I'm at my sites root, I have access to App_Code, e.g. www.appcodesucks.com/test.aspx
However, if I arbitrarily move my test page (test.aspx) down one directory to: www.appcodesucks.com/test/test.aspx, it doesn't work! I get the compiliation error.
This is the most annoying thing. Does anybody have any pointers?

You need to publish to the new place so all your reference locations get updated.
The only way to speed up a Macintosh computer is at 9.8 m/sec/sec.

Can you elaborate on what you mean? I don't quite understand...

You use Visual Studio to publish(save the application on the server) I assume. Just have it publish to the new directory. You said you copied the stuff to the new location yourself, you didn't manually change the hardcoded directory locations, if you use VS to publish it will do it for you.

I am "publish" via FTP to godaddy. I actually deleted everything of the server, then recopied everything (ftp), and still no luck. Is this differnet then what you're saying?
Looks like this person experienced this too:

Did you use FTP to publish it the first time?

The very very first time I've ever used this server did I use FTP? Hmm, I don't remember, probably. Why?

I was just under the impression that you have to use the public feature of VS. I have been wrong before. For the sake of both of us, delete all you can on the godaddy and publish all of it using VS. See if that works.

By "publish .. using VS", do you mean using FrontPage extensions?

I think that is the service on the backend, not 100% sure. Come to think of it I think it is SharePoint services. Does godaddy offer that?

Hi,
I want to create a csv file on the fly and download it on client browser in classic asp 3.0. I have all the content of csv file in a vb script variant variable. I created the csv file using textstream and FSO object.
I have tried adodb streaming(using ADODB.Stream object) to download but it requires me to save the content in a csv file on the server before I can download it to client browser. This creates additional problem of file cleanup. The file download takes time(probably it spawns a new thread) and an attempt to delete the csv file on the server gives an error.
So, I want to do it on the fly, without creating a csv file on server.
Any suggestions and solution would greatly help.
Thanks,
Gaurav

I am in the process of evaluating SQL Server Reporting Services as one of the option as a Reporting Tool. Primarily my database is SQL Server 2005.
My recquirement is that the reports generated by SQL Server Reporting Services should support internationalization i.e abiity to print & exportreports in different languages. The reports will be triggered using ASP.NET 2.0.
I am aware that ASP.NET 2.0 supports Internationalization ; however i was wondering can this support can be extended to SQL Server Reporting Services, if yes then how is it possible.
Any reference link / sample code would greately be appreciated

Hi,
I am having this problem with session.
First I login and I assign the userid to a session which I'll will need it throughout the website. When something gone wrong on any of my web page, the session will be gone. May I know why is this happening?
Another problem I face previously is the session keep on loosing itself although I specify a time for it to expire which is longer than what I expect it would be.
Thanks

I have a feeling that this is not the first time you've posted this. This is not an inherent problem in ASP.NET as far as I know. I've been building sites that use the same principle and work seamlessly for hundreds of users at any given time.
I'm certain that ASP.NET does not crumble to dust for small page errors. But if the error you're getting is serious enough to actually hang the worker thread, then it's quite possible that your sessions will be lost and as a consequence, your application will restart. Check the IIS logs to gain some insight into what's happening behind the scene.
First, do a thorough code review. If that does not solve the problem with sessions,
Do the following.
1. Check the ASP.NET and IIS configuration in your web server.
2. Try to publish your site in a different box and check if the problem recurs.
3. Try running your application in a separate application domain in IIS.
A session is but another object in the heap. I dont know much about GC in IIS application domains and how IIS maintains it's worker threads. If you're using VS 2005, does this problem occur even in the inbuilt web server spawned by VS 2005, or do you face problems only when it's hosted in IIS?
