This Error is not because Threading,
It is because you are calling session object (or any other object)
Before that object decalre or get a Memory allocation.
|
|
|
|
|
Not Session but System.Web.HttpContext.Current is null
in thrreading, when i run these codes out of threading
there isn't any error.
Only error while threading.

I'm looking for a 'pictureboxlike' control for
a web form using asp.net 2.0 w/VS 2005 and vb.net similar
to the picturebox control that I have been using in VB6.
I want to be able to use the backcolor, forecolor,
scale property, and currentx, currenty to create graphs
(lines, circles, parabolas) as
well as have the ability to mix different fonts
and colors when printing text.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

There is an image tag. ASP.NET is limited to what can be done using HTML. You are describing a control that doesn't exist, unless you use SVG. Your other option is to draw your bitmaps on the server, and feed them down to the client.

I just googled SVG. I don't think it's what
I had in mind.
Thanks.

No, I doubt it was, I was just trying to give a complete answer. You probably want to generate images on the server, and push them to the client.

take eg. there are textboxes and two Buttons.
TextBox1,Button1 and TextBox2,Button2
if someone write in TextBox1 and press 'Enter' then Button1 should be pressed
and if Something is written on TextBox2 and on pressing of Enter Button2 Shoud be pressed.

You can do this by help of javascript
Check the keypress event and if the event is enter(13)
the call your button click event.
Or in focus event of text box set the button summit beheviour

I want to create a class that my whole asp.net application can use, sort of like how the App_Code folder works. But the problem, with
App_Code, is that it sits on the site root, so any changes you make to it affects ALL the code in your site which might break production code.
I would like to create two seperate App_Code type folders within both my debug and release folders. Is that possible?

No, it's not possible, and it it were, it would not help. Any changes you made to any code in these folders would also affect all the code in the application.
Add a library project to the solution. This compiles into a separate dll file, and you can easily separate it from the main application at any time by removing the reference to the project.

Well, here's what I mean
/debug/ <- debug folder
/debug/App_Code/
/demo/ <-release folder
/demo/App_Code/
SO, I work on App_Code code when building the app then copy it to demo when it's ready.
How can I facilitate this?

Almost certainly you have debug tracing turned on, so it gets rendered below your text. Response.Flush() and Response.End() should stop it, but also turn tracing off in the aspx that creates the text file.

Well, I did turn it off. please see my code..
<%@ Page language="c#" CodeFile="test.aspx.cs" Trace="false"%>

If so it didn't work.

It might help if you show us the connectionstring. I would guess that you have a problem with your connection string.

Is sql express loaded on the PC where this windows service is running? If it is installed is the database you are looking for installed? If the database is installed does the user and password you are using to connect exist with the correct rights for the application? Are you sure your name for the sql server express is correct?
If you are having problems connection with sql server there is a real good chance that there is a problem with the connection string.
If you have loaded the express tools so you can access the database, use the tool and log into sql express as the user. Make sure you can do everything the windows service should be able to do.

I have a website that curently have an admin section with which a user can manage site . I use the cookie name set in web.config file for authenticating the admin user of the site. Now I am gonna add normal user membership other that admin to my site. I have a problem regarding "authentication cookie name" for normal users as I have already used that for admin users. As you now I am not allowed to define another authentication cookie name at folder level.(But application level). So what is your recommendation to this problem ?? Should I use a normal cookie other that the one defined in web.cofig file to authenticate users . I need this . I will appreciate your help . Thanks in advance.

I wanna publish my website on a server. My company has a host server.
I'm using Visual Studio 2005, asp.net 2.0.
I learned that I need to know the username and password of the server, then use the "Build>>Publish Website" option in Visual STudio 2005, then set the target location to : ftp://www.mycompanyserver.com/, then start publishing.
Now what's next, is there anything else that should be done in order to access my website? I mean, how can I access my default web page. Let's say my default web page is : Content.aspx, what's the url exactly that I'll be using to access this page? Will this url be given to me by the server's admin or what??
Please help, it's very urgent

The first thing that should be done is set up the target machine/server and ensure the proper framework version, permissions, etc..
Once the site is provisioned on the box, your ftp info will probably give you access to the sites root (if your publishing a new web site) or to a virtual directory (if your publishing a web app/module) or you may have access to everything. In any event you want to upload your site to the ftp path where the website lives.
The web site is typically accessible via a domain name (which you would need to access it), or an IP or some other network address if it will be an intranet application.
Although your question is simple enough, I would think this information and how to set it up would be common knowledge to a person that managed to build a web site via .Net in the first place though.
Also, if your site does not contain a default/index .htm |.html |.asp | aspx you will either need to configure IIS to make your default page "Content.aspx" or set up a redirect to that page from one of the other "default" pages.
To directly access the page in question, the url might look like:
http://www.somedomain.com/contact.aspx
Another thing, assuming your accessing a DB that is not local, you may need to change your connection string(s) in the web.config once or before the app is deployed.
Hope this helps
