Looks interesting. And you guys eat lunch together - sounds like it's a close knit team. One small prob on my part - I live in the UK. Would this work for the team, i.e. would they support me relocating to the US?

i want to type only numeric data for wpf textbox control.please help

You've been told how to handle the PreviewKeyDown event. That's one way of accomplishing this, so please write the rest of your code yourself - it's a simple case of testing the key press.

Why does Vector3D have only 3 coordinate properties X,Y,Z? Does every Vector3D start in point (0,0,0)?
|
|
|
|
|
If you are living in 3D then yes every vector should have 3 coordinates. This is true also for 2D and 2D only have 2D vector. This implies to all dimensions. If you studding theory of relativity then you need 4D vectors where time is also one of the components. Let’s make life simple, and only worry from 1D to 3D which we are dealing with WPF.

The short answer is if you want to say so. (Normally, I would not say that vectors "start" anywhere per se.)
The long answer is that you are brushing up against one of the hardest things about programming, "Data doesn't mean anything until you say it does." Take for example, the Point and Size classes. Both have 2 integer (or double or float or whatever) components. Both could be used to store the exact same data, but the different structures exist because that is how we assign meaning to the data. So, the implicit assumption made by the designers of Vector3D is either that all vectors "start" at (0,0,0) or that the vector is the more abstract concept of an amount of travel in a direction.

how to create keypress event for textbox control(wpf application)
please help.
thank you.
|
|
|
|
|
In your textbox declaration, add the following handler:
PreviewKeyDown="KeyDownHandler" In the codebehind, you will add the code:
private void KeyDownHandler(object sender, KeyEventArgs e)
{
} WPF allows you to preview commands, so there is no need to use a keypress to validate the item because you can cancel it here by setting e.Handled = true; in response to your test.

how to create reports(same crystal reports) using access or sql server compact 3.5 data base for wpf application. please help.
Thank You.
|
|
|
|
|
That's a fairly broad scope you've got there. Are you asking how you recreate all of Crystal in WPF, or do you just want to display a tabular report? I would suggest that you might want to look at one of the commercial grid controls such as the Xceed WPF grid control then you can display reports quite easily.

Hi
I am just trying to convert my web app developed in .net to Silverlight.
So I am worried about repeating all the lengthy code(for design in xaml page)every time.So if anybody knows or can guide to come out of this.In simple words I need a replacement of MasterPages or Include files in silverlight 2 Beta 2.

You can add a DLL reference to use any previously build classes and methods.
Nirav_Vyas wrote: MasterPages
There is no native support for master pages in silverlight. However to implement a similar functionaly, you can do something like this:
- Create your main page (acting as a master page) such that you leave some space for your content (similar to the content place holder)
- Create separate user controls for each of the pages and build some logic to dynamically load the appropriate user control into that content space
Hope that gives an abstract idea.

Hey guys...
still busy writing the calender control in WPF, now I've got a silly little issue.
[Background Info]
This control will be used as a roster, so a shift needs to be allocated do a specific day.
When the day is not used(its a blank block OR there is no shift allocated on that day) its background is Grey. If a shift is allocated to a day that days background goes blue, if the day is an off day the background goes RED.
All the day numbers of the cells are black text, accept Sundays which have red text.
[/Background Info]
my problem is having an off day on a Sunday, you cant see the day number(red text on a red background), id like to try and have a black outline for the red text...
Any thoughts, ideas or links?
Thanx alot

Harvey
Create a FormattedText object to represent your text, and then use BuildGeometry to create a Geometry object on this. See here[^] for ideas how to accomplish this.
