I have downloaded a Windows 10 Pro ISO from My Visual Studio (formerly MSDN) and obtained a license key for it.
I cannot figure out a way to install from the ISO.
What I have tried:
- "Quick Create..." pointing to the ISO file. This ends with a boot loader failure.
- creating a "Windows 10 dev environment" VM, starting that, copying the ISO contents to a folder and running the setup. I get the Key entry dialog that accepts my key. BUT because the version of Windows I am attempting to install is different than the host OS it forces all existing files in the VM to be deleted, including the setup folder I'm trying to install from. So when the reboot occurs, a reality paradox ensues and it fails utterly.
- creating a virtual SCSI DVD pointing to the Win 10 Pro install ISO and making that the boot drive. This ends with a boot loader failure.
- creating a virtual SCSI hard drive with the contents of the Win 10 Pro install ISO and making that the boot drive. This ends with a boot loader failure.
