I'm with you. I think Chris is playing a practical joke. I noticed the star recently on a Lounge post and couldn't remember having seen it before. Maybe it's just a very rare occurrence.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

An update:
I know I said the popular star has been around forever. However, I realised it just never worked properly. We made a change a few weeks ago that corrected a caching issue that was holding us back from being able to determine popularity for messages in the forums.

Which now reminds me of a popular saying in software engineering, which goes something like, "The bugs made in the early stages of development are the ones to be discovered in the last stages"...

It's showing now; probably caching in your browser.

The votes don't show on the article for me, but they are showing on the article list.

That is strange, they are not showing for me now. But they were definitely there the first time I looked.

This problem is appearing to me after the recent design change of Code Project. I mean viewers, downloads and bookmarks are now moved to the left side of the article page.

They seem to be back now.

1. Aren't we allowed to just delete them (if they're obviously spam)? Or does it have to be done democratically?

In case of spam it is required not to delete, so that the filters learn with the reports.
In case of plagiarized posts... I do delete some when the counter is too high and should be already gone.

Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

I don't think so. It was so for the two articles from my post (which have both been deleted manually) and is still so (have a look at the pending spam articles and check the number of reports).
See also the above post from Indira where he states that the article had 23 reports which is enough for kicking by 4 different kinds of reports. And it was reported as spam by me in the forum. So I guess most - if not all - reports where Spam/Abusive. It might happen for other report types like plagiarism for the second link (and discussed above). But even that had enough reports (13) to be closed by two kinds.

No, I'm not doing this for the reputation points, so you can leave those at zero if you like.
I'm using my reputation history as a transaction log.

This doesn't bother anybody else but me because I do things like lie in bed at night wondering why a phrase seems to be echoing in my head ...
But on this webpage:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/Membership/View.aspx?mid=11581457[^]
There's this Member Profile, obviously there's his ID number/etc, and in the left panel there's the "Member's Profile" link. But when I click on that, I get directed to another Member's profile:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/Membership/View.aspx?mid=14596[^]
Is this behavior akin to this new stuff which is appearing in my own Member Profile page?
This "blog" ... I don't have a blog. Do I?

you do now

It does seem to be all closed accounts. Just pick a dead spammer account at random from the Spam forum, and the links on the left go to user 14596.

In the Q/A list the question: using enumeration in C#[^] shows as updated 5 hrs ago, but on the actual page for that question, there isn't any indication of a change since Feb 2012.
Is this a bug?

Maybe there was a spam / crap answer that got deleted recently?

Could be...
Probably as good a theory as any.
