In my opinion that could be a good idea, but a bit of pandora box on the same time.
It is already enough work moderating all together the english articles. With more languages the efford to moderate would be bigger, since not all could have a look to that proposal of translation.

That is definitely true. Most likely there is not enough resources to do this and even if there would be, only a minor portion of the articles would be translated. Most likely the moderators should be CP users in order to get enough workforce to the process.
On the other hand perhaps if translations were available (to some extent) a new type of users would be introduced to CP. Who knows...
Just waiting for Chris to confirm the Never option

That's for sure. If I volunteer to help translating or moderating some articles in spanish I would do it only with the articles that I think they deserve it.

Do you want "dame código" instead of "gimme codez" or "muy urgente" instead of "very urgent"?

I would love it. Absolutely love it.
We tried it on CodeGuru back in 1996 (Oh man now I feel painfully old) and it took - sort of - but there was a fairly constant issue of articles getting out of date.
Regardless, if there are volunteers then I'd absolutely love to have a crack at it.

I volunteer; Dutch is my native language so I could moderate Dutch translations of articles.

Well, I'd like to give it a try and translate at least some articles to Finnish.
Can you already imagine the 5M potential readers (infants included)
Anyhow, I think that this would be almost like an alternative but all the downloads, pictures etc should come directly from the original article. In my opinion the translation should cover only the text, rest would come from original. I know there are lots of pictures in english but still this would keep things a bit simpler.

Recently a user was spotted with a lot of articles and tips (over 50) where at least 5 were plagiarized. The search for more is still active.
I saved the list of the articles just in case, to check with calm in other moment.
The point is, I wanted to post the list, but the friendly URL for that user (i guess it is because the user has been nuked) is pointing to my article's list, when I click on the preview or paste it directly in browser.
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/Niladri_Biswas#articles[^]
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/Niladri_Biswas#tips[^]
Is pointing to my article for you as well? or do you land in your own list?
On the other hand... is that a bug?
I know (and I already used it) about the CP-Search with [ author: "Niladri_Biswas" ]

It landed on my own tips and articles respectively.
P.s. I was really tempted to say that it landed on your list but it was empty, but that would've been a bad joke

I think I am going to make a backup

This user[^] is gone as well, but the List of questions[^] that I took from his profile before he got nuked to try to clean up afterwards is still accesible.
I suppose that it has to do with the difference about quering the ID-Number or the username.
I don't want to bother you. It is not a problem, there are workarounds enough to find the things. I was just wondering.

Article submission wizard:
I am trying to delete a couple of my file uploads in my draft and I see:
Error occurred while deleting file. {"Message":"There was an error processing the request.","StackTrace":"","ExceptionType":""}
I see where this has been reported before but, at that time, it was fixed. I still have the problem and have tried with both IE and FF 32.

That's an error even I am living with. Unable to delete, renaming them as old_abc.jpg or something like that!

Which article?

It's a new draft (work in progress) entitled "Discrete Wavelet Transforms Using Java." I made some changes to my pngs and zips while working on the draft.
I can always start a fresh, new article and recreate the content by pasting my current source, then delete the original... so I have a work-around.

Now a days Python use has increased a lot . It can be used for Web development, Scientific and numeric computation, or Desktop GUIs.
So can we have a Python category to add Article or Tip on Code project
|
|
|
|
|
We prefer to have sections on topics, rather than specific languages, unless there are enough articles on the actual language itself.
For example, an article written in Python that shows how to write a chart would do in Web Developement / Charting. An article the dives into the specifics of Python would be something that would make us consider creating a Python specific chapter.

the Apple platform is missing. Special languages are Objective-C and the brand new Swift. And also the operating systems MacOS and iOS in different versions.
Or have I overlooked it?
Press F1 for help or google it.

You mean as tags?
You can add your own tags: just type them in, separated by a comma, and they'll go into the system.

I had added them, but why arent these as selectable items in the table?

Possibly because there are over 2,500 tags and we need to limit the list in the table to the top tags.
However, I will go and tweak it a little...

This week's newsletter came with July Monthly Competition Winners list. As far as I can see, I already have got that one on August 25.
Shouldn't this one have included the winners for August?
Whether I think I can, or think I can't, I am always bloody right!
