The big question: What are the steps to reproduce it
Anyway, thanks for confirming.

I had it misbehave once on that forum and then never again.
It's odd - this is old, old code that's been stable forever.

It happened once to me on FF 98.0.2/Ubuntu 20.04LTS.
Something to do with scrolling down with the mouse pointer in the message area then scrolling back up with the pointer in the left menu.
...Or something like that. I couldn't reproduce it either.
Possibly related to the other old-timer where the menu overlays(?) the body until you scroll to the top of the page, then it snaps back to sanity.

This happens when the tree expands to the bottom of the scren, and you scroll down the page:

Other way round, really: the menu is overlapping the ad.

If you look at messages in S&A, the column alignment is very odd:
Sometimes the author is indented a little, sometimes not - and there is nothing obvious that says if it is or isn't.
But in B&S it's perfectly aligned:
And the authors are in a neat column.
In the lounge it's sort of a "half-way house":
Tidier than S&B, but messier than B&S ...
CTRL+F5 has no effect.

I'm not seeing that. It did happen in development, but was rolled back. Possibly a dud version was released and then replaced with a corrected version, but you're seeing cache issues. From my side I can't see what you're seeing.
I'm running Chrome with DevTools enabled to allow caching to be disabled.

Strange: I still get it (though to a lesser extent today) , even after a reboot and CTRL+F5.

Symptoms: when scrolling down, the left-side menu sometimes doesn't stay in place, but instead goes all the way to the left, like this:
Steps to reproduce: unfortunately I have no idea.
Browser: firefox 98.0
Ad block: adblock plus (sometimes this matters idk)

Can you try a Ctrl+F5 please?

I ctrl+F5'ed a bunch of times but it still (randomly) happens sometimes. It seems that this bug doesn't happen if I refresh the lounge and then scroll down, but often does happen if I refresh the main page, navigate to the lounge via the menu, and then scroll down. I haven't seen it happen anywhere other than in the lounge.
E: problem seems to have gone away now, or at least I haven't seen it happen again.

It's back, or maybe it never really went away, it's hard to tell because it's inconsistent

I could deal with the menu tree jumping around from left to right, and my font changing depending on whether I'm signed in or not, and the cookie that tracks "last view time" resetting the time without a visit but ...
now there's no menu tree visible anywhere. It doesn't matter which forum I chose manually from the menu under Bob ... no menu tree either right or left. The right just has the banner for Code Project AI and, depending on the forum, a list of "Open Items" and "In Progress".
I love that menu tree, especially when the unread flag is working correctly.
Thanks,
Judy

I have the menu - with an overlapping bug in the lounge but not here - but it's apparently not working right in edge for some people[^].

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

We've been tweaking some CSS, and obviously have a threshold set too small for hiding the forum tree.
Chris has 'fixed' it, and I am about to deploy the change after rebuilding the inline CSS.

When I click on my article on the front page[^], I'm toldYou have an auto-saved draft version. Would you like to view or edit it? But when I click on the "Drafts" tab of My Articles[^], there's no draft version, which is what I expected.
EDIT: All good now. Either someone or latency must have fixed it. It's ba-a-ack!

I thought I had understood the menu tree on the right was a css issue, and even lounge-joked about it but since it is still there, I am genuinely confused now : is it a bug or a feature ?
/edit: Just saw Richard's post, so I figured it is unwanted behaviour.
