Obviously, there is a maximum IQ limit for astrologers. And it's similar to shoe sizes...

And that's UK shoe sizes, not European.

Spammy SEO was all about boosting the page rank of a site by generating a flood of links to it. Google changed its algorithms last fall to severely penalize doing so but not all the bottom feeders have figured it out yet.
http://www.theawl.com/2013/12/the-new-spammer-panic[^]
Quote: "The average drop was from page one to page five in Google," he said. In some cases they even dropped as low as page ten. How often do you find yourself on the fifth—much less the tenth—page of Google results? If you've gotten that far, you're better off just refining or revising your search terms.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I posted this response to a question on the C# language forum: [^] 14 hours and 50 minutes ago; at that time this response by Richard Deeming: [^], posted 15 hours and 57 minutes ago, was not visible.
And, yes, I do refresh CP pages before I respond to a question to try and avoid giving responses that may look like "me-too's," and, being a slacker, I certainly want to avoid posting when I think the query is fully answered/responded to !
What really puzzles me is that some parts of CP seem to be updated instantly. But QA, Language Forums, and Lounge, are often showing delays of up to 2+ hours in content updating.
Could it be that the Hamsters on the Thailand QA and Language Forum server are looking at pictures of tropical beaches on Koh Phangan with bare-breasted Scandinavian female tourists sunbathing, and ... uhhh ... slacking ?
thanks, Bill

“Oh, you can't help that,” said the Cat: “we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.”
“How do you know I'm mad?” said Alice.
“You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn't have come here.” Lewis Carroll

I think I found the issue. There was a caching issue that wouldn't update the #messages in Thread View. Should be Ok after next deploy.

sometimes the thread discussion needs the employment of an emoticon that is not present. So one suggested emoticon is
 - an animated icon showing a sickly-green face throwing up --- for use when you are just disgusted with what someone has just posted or the way the thread is going ---
any others?

This article[^] does seem to scratch the border of spam, even though no direct contact possibilites are listed (being the cause why I don't post this in the spam watch).
Whatever, the article seems rather to be a Reference, and definately not an article.
Any volunteer willing to fix it?

Did you read the Editorial Note on top of the article?
It is in the Third Party Products and Tools section.

But still not an article.

You are right. And I don't get it why it is in the 3rd party section.

So the point you've made is particularly useless?

Finally: Yes.
In the 3rd party section there are no tips. So the articles may be shorter there. Therefore, I answered you. But after reading the complete article I had to change my mind on the article type.

I just thought that it should be interesting to show some statistics on QA home page, like
1. Number of active questions
2. Number of answered question
2.1 Number of accepted answers
3. Number of unanswered questions
4. Average time a question answered
5. Average time between answer and acceptance
...and may more...

It maybe help to remove all the homework questions...
If someone will see that getting answers is 2 days and 3 hours in average - he will not post his homework question of tomorrow .
I was not really in for some benefit, I just thought it could be nice - that may give some kind of satisfaction for those too didn't make the top experts list ever...

If they did a little search they would not need to post that questions. 95% of homework questions are already solved in the net, the users are just dammed lazy.

Heck man! The lazy buggers don't read the instructions on the same page suggesting they google first. What chance do we have that they would read statistics?
Most of the real idiots seem to post up the homework as quick as possible so they can get down the bar and drinking without delay. Which IIRC is the main purpose of going to university...
