Or you could just be patient, and wait for some feedback or final approval.

When I first read your snarky comment I must admit I had an emotional response, but I am mature enough and have suffered enough web-interactions to know how to handle this.
I will not make an ad hominem attack, but instead will focus on the specifics of the discussion.
You may very well want to consider the following:
1. this forum is called Bugs and SUGGESTIONS. Mine was simply a suggestion.
2. I was afraid of a comment exactly like yours and I took the time to even state in my comment that I was afraid I'd offend someone at CP.
3. Even your argument isn't sound: __that I should just wait for moderation and comments___.
That was the entire point. I can't even tell if the article is in the queue.
4. Consider what is going on now with the CP front-page: there are like 7 non-articles which are on there posted from someone's blog -- I'm assuming those got there with no moderation.
5. I was trying to help make CP better, not just make another complaint.
Notice that these are all suggestions and ideas to broaden the discussion about the CP users experience.
|
|
|
|
|
1. So was mine
2. Your comment did not offend me, I was just making a suggestion.
3. If you have submitted it then it will be in the queue.
4. Yes, there are some CP members who seem to be approving all sorts of poorly written articles.
5. And you are not the first.

Thanks, I appreciate the continuing conversation.
Have a great day.

It serves little purpose. Personally as a moderator I open most of the articles which are in queue. But if the article is out of my domain, I do not vote on it. I just move on. So it may give a wrong impression that "n" number of view from moderator but "0" approval.
I make it a point that I never approve any article whose topic is not in my domain.

As it should be.
For the enquirer / OP
I approve very few articles. But I give feedback about Type / format / optic comfortability / etc... to a lot of queued items.
If you see comments of me in other items within the queue and not in yours... You already have a "highly probable" feedback from my side. Your contribution is so far to be technically judged by people with expertise in that area, be patient. It will be approved or rejected, don't worry. I can ensure you, no article remains longer than a couple of days in the queue.

On my profile page I notice that the sentence reads:
"Add your CodeProject profile tn your Blog"
focus on the bold part
Here's a snapshot of what it looks like:

Hi,
Several weeks ago I stopped getting the daily newsletter. My account here is still active obviously, and I am still signed up for it but have not seen it. Aside from the always witty quips to go along with the hyperlink articles I find a lot of good information there.
We have McAfee email SaaS here at work, but none of the newsletters have ended up in my quarantine and doing a perimeter search shows no evidence that these emails have ever even reached the McAfee gateway let along got some spam rating or some other reason that would cause it to be dropped.
Thanks.

Thanks very much for your email. I have sent you an email confirmation request which should help resolve the issue. Please let me know if you get tomorrow's.

The link Working out how to catch sarcasm on the Internet of your Daily News (Jan 25, 2015) just takes you to an empty page. Is this your way of saying this is impossible? If so, nice joke!!!

I think it would be better to put the empty line break before the quote instead of after it. If you quote several things and comment them, it looks like the comment belongs to the following quote instead of the previous one.
I mean:
<blockquote class="quote"><div class="op">Quote:</div>Quote 1</blockquote>
comment 1
<blockquote class="quote"><div class="op">Quote:</div>Quote 2</blockquote>
comment 2
<blockquote class="quote"><div class="op">Quote:</div>Quote 3</blockquote>
comment 3
Gives:
Quote: Quote 1
comment 1
Quote: Quote 2
comment 2
Quote: Quote 3
comment 3
can it be changed?

You can work around it like this:
<blockquote class="quote"><div class="op">Quote:</div>Quote 1</blockquote>comment 1
<blockquote class="quote"><div class="op">Quote:</div>Quote 2</blockquote>comment 2
<blockquote class="quote"><div class="op">Quote:</div>Quote 3</blockquote>comment 3
But it's a bit tedious so I'd still like to see your suggestion implemented.

Just deleted an answer (my own) in Q&A and didn't get the 10 points deducted.

Why would it?
You put effort into writing that answer...As I see you should have got an another point for removing it after found it wrong (we all make mistakes)...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I agree with you in general - and maybe the admins will too. I just thought I'd mention it because it could be exploited.

Probably there is someone exploiting it just know, but fortunately "it is easier to catch a liar than a lame dog" (a poor translation of a Hungarian proverb)

I have approval privileges but have so far never approved an article. I'm not sure on what the process is or what to do. I'd appreciate some suggestions on what others do. What's the process? What sort of things should I be looking for when approving an article?
Any help much appreciated

Good morning.
The last saturday 23/01/2016, my account OMAR NASRI http://www.codeproject.com/script/Membership/View.aspx?mid=7799248 . has been reported due to plagiarism,
because i forgot to put a references section in my latest articles (that was my mistake because im new in this topic : i start writing articles in november 2015) specially
in introduction chapters before i start the coding part. example :
- Creating a Search Engine using Lucene.NET : introduction,
- windows azure cloud computing : introduction,
as consequence my account has been closed.
it was a mistake to report me. However, I indicated the references of my documentation inside the content of article.
But i have not received any comments or notification from community just a report and ban.
I thought that when i publish my articles, i will receive help from experts , to correct the issues and help me to improve it.
how new authors can improve their skills if they don't receive help from expert ones ? because we are not born with this gift.
Also i repeat the only reason i joined code project is to improve my skills in writing and in computer sciences not to be banned or to be a troll.
Admins please can you help me to activate my account again ? because it will be a big loss for me
thanks
OMAR NASRI
