I've been a member for 12 and a bit years now, all on the same address - seems a bit late to need confirming!

It's a periodic confirmation to ensure you're still actively using that email address and still a user on this site. We all have to confirm every so often.

Ah OK, thanks. I don't remember doing this but I suppose I must have.

The new box has no code formatting options, so if the answer for that question is some code it very hard to read and follow...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I'm not sure the feature is being properly used at all, can't say I've seem a single question where it isn't either a copy-paste of the question or some form of "I've tried everything, please give me code". I get what the box is trying to do, to prompt people into thinking about their question in a more structured and logical manner, and helping to provide more useful info, but if people don't "get" it or are just poor question-askers in general then it's not adding much value in its current state.

To be assured, it not being used properly...There is a lot of confusion and it is hard to understand sometimes what OP meant...
However I saw a case when it looked like a valid step to put the code in the 'What have I tried' section...

If those seeking help aren't willing to put even a basic effort into posing a question that can be answered then we have two choices
1. Fix the question so it's answerable and makes sense
2. Delete the question
Questions should not simply be left to fester.

One more vote for this. I can't edit article and can't submit new one. Its content simply disapeared

Try Ctrl+F5 and if that doesn't work, a different browser. The fix has been deployed but some browsers (Chrome) hang onto the old scripts a little too tightly.

I am attempting to upload a picture for my profile and every time I get the following error:
Something bad happened
We're not sure what, but we have a few guesses.
Problem: Illegal characters in path.
Ticket: 0
Server: Web04
edit: I should've mentioned the name of the file too: launch.jpg, launch.png, greensq.jpg, greensq.png
I've tried PNG and JPG versions. Tried 100x150 size then tried a green square that was like 50x50.
Tried both PNG and JPG versions of that too. All files are < 20K
I tried a larger one and got the error about files size limit.
However, I never can upload a file without the error above.
I even moved the file to another directory to see if that would work but it didn't.
2nd EDIT
Can someone lend a hand?
Thanks
I've Solved It
I took another shot at it.
I decided to start Microsoft Edge and see if it would work any better.
Nope, still got the same error.
Finally, I removed my current pic (gravatar) and saved.
Then, my profile showed only the Codey shadow that I have no pic selected.
Next, I uploaded the valid pic and it worked.

Any time I click on a forum reply notice in Outlook 2010 (under Win10-64 pro), it freezes for a few dozen seconds trying to download something from your CDN:

The Insider emails aren't causing this, and I can open forum replies in Gmail via Firefox without problem either. This started happening a few days ago.

Figure's that was to blame.
As much as I dislike some of the other changes in newer versions of Outlook, replacing Word with Edge as the HTML rendering engine probably would get me to upgrade to Outlook v.next prior to 2010 going end of life.

Or...have a look at Live Mail - it's part of the Microsoft Essentials pack - it looks like Outlook, it works like Outlook...and it isn't that damn Win10 Mail rubbish.

Unless it supports NNTP or Outlook plugins it's also incapable of being a full replacement.
And that's ignoring that it's name suggests it's just the latest generation of the halfbaked knockoff outlook express that's been an elephanting turd for as long as its existed.

This member: Member Profile - CodeProject[^] posted a message in the lounge 9 minutes ago: The Lounge - CodeProject[^] and it's already automatically removed and his account closed? On a Sunday?
We can't even kick off a Baba spammer that quick on a weekend!
Some kind of glitch? Sock puppet attack? Or did he close his own account? I can't tell what the message content was, but it's possible he was bored with the Superbowl...

On the whole I think this is a good new prompt, but the code formatting tags should also be available in that section.
Specific example:
I tried to edit a question for an OP to format their code... highlighted the code in the "What have you tried" section and clicked on Code, VB. All I got was the empty <pre lang="vb"></pre> line at the top of the main question. Did it manually in the end.

Suddenly in the login section top menu there is a message stating "Your email needs to be confirmed".
How to do this?
I did not receive any mails and I don't find a way to confirm.
