. . . only in it for the rep points ? . . .
(the thread is old, but I picked it up from the "in progress" side bar)

Just spotted this by following the In Progress thread.
Were you implying that the only reason I report spammers is to collect that 1 rep point per message?
Because that really is funny
P.S. As a site "Protector" I sort of try to, you know, protect the site.

Happens sometimes when e.g. one clears the browser history, at least that's my experience.

I had it this morning: I reloaded five pages from CP with F5 and one of them - the lounge - needed me to sign back in again. The other four didn't. At the time, I assumed it was a glitch on my side.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Hi, I noticed that the html code to download files (or see images) seems to missing for some CodeProject articles. Is something broken or am I missing something?
Here is one of the articles:
Round Buttons[^]
Albeit it is old but I was digging around for some techniques on how to build a round button in MFC.
Any thoughts?

An alternative is to click the 'Browse Code' link on the left and click the archive you want to download on that page.
And yes, this seems to be a bug.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

Is there a way to hide or make private an article or tip/trick? Or otherwise disable voting on an article?
Someone (I believe I know who) is daily downvoting all of my articles, tips/tricks. I would like to disable or hide the articles for a time so that this downvoting will stop.
I know I can delete the articles and repost them, but there are several people who have bookmarked the articles and I don't want that these people to lose those bookmarks.
Thanks.

The only way would be to delete the article/tip. However, the range of votes is considered into the final rating, so outliers like a single vote of 1 will be discounted.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. *sigh* I guess I'll continue to counter the downvotes and hope the idiot eventually tires of his vendetta.

If Oz is correct about you-know-who then why is you-know-who still around?

I often browse QA from my phone and noticed over the last couple of days that QA questions list was not being updated ... then I got a bit suspicious that all of the questions were Java related. Got back onto my laptop eventually to find that a QA filter was on for
Java, Java SE, JavaSE6, J2SE5, J2SE4, J2ME, J2EE, Swing, Java Subjects I would definitely never filter anything on and there is no filter available on the Android view.
Have I been pranked or was there a glitch?
I am now receiving therapy

I second this. I thought it was just me but I've noticed a few times in the past where filters "magically" appear.

Go to the home page and click on any of the article columns under "Set your site filter". It then gets proliferated into Q&A. But if you set the filters in Q&A it does not affect the home page.

New users often click "Have a question or comment" when they want to reply to a comment instead of clicking Reply and they start it with @username. I don't use other forums but I believe this may be common among other forums as a way to direct who your message is to. Personally, I like the way CP works in this regard.
Perhaps it would be easy enough to check if the beginning of the comment is @username to then insert the comment as a reply to the most recent top-level comment of that user. Something like that.

This article - C++ Wrappers for the Expat XML Parser[^] has really been hammered by spam messages over the years. Most of the messages in the Forum are "Message Automatically Removed".
Apparently there is still some spam floating around in there but it's almost impossible to see - any chance of a clear out of the Automatically Removed messages?
