That is irrelevant. There is nothing wrong with explaining to someone, especially new members, how to use the system.

I don't want this discussion to be long, but i just wanted to say that he would have been advised to post this at appropriate place. That way, OP will learn more about how to use the system.

Why? There is no point in telling him/her to post the same question somewhere else when it can easily be answered here. By all means point out where the proper place is (if you know it) as an addendum to the response.
