I was wondering if it is possible to pan a WAV file in direct sound without using the SetPan function. If so how?

That is change the volume on 2 different speakers, right and left, to simulate that the sound is moving around the player.

This is precisely the reason why SetPan exists. Why don't you want to use it ?

Are you having any specific reason why do you don't want to prefer SetPan?

It's a school assignment... we're supposed to make the 3D effects ourselfs without using any premade functions.
