In this problem you would be solving systems of equations with substitution.

What I have tried:

Nothing. I'm pretty stuck on this problem.

Two things:
1) That is normal, boring maths: a very simple substitution problem. Your last lecture will have taught you how to solve them. This is a software development site, not a "maths is fun" site, so you are posting in the wrong place.

2) We do not do your homework: it is set for a reason. It is there so that you think about what you have been told, and try to understand it. It is also there so that your tutor can identify areas where you are weak, and focus more attention on remedial action.

Try it yourself, or learn the Magic Words: "Do you want fries with that?"

Hi OriginalGriff, sorry for the interruption but your (right) reply here would better be served as a comment and not as a solution... :)
